Hrmph ... interesting read.

My advice to you is to stay involved with your local church and to stop watching TBN. Use the time that you would normally spend watching to read the Word of God, fellowship with your Christian brothers and sisters either offline or here, online.

God bless :)

That was some sad reading! We know them by their fruit...we don't judge them by their fruit..but we can know! There is but one Judge..God.....as far as TBN goes...fruit is ever growing..that presents and shows the love of God through His Son Jesus Christ...as far as individulas go and false doctrine or doctrines of men...we live by His word and compare what is said by others accordingly..

The man that wrote what he did...what fruit is he producing...I didn't see Jesus in anything he said...I saw the words and works of man speaking out of presumption...so sad!:sigh:

There is a balance to everything and truth in scripture for us only when it is rightly divided, using the entire balance of scripture on any one subject, such as wealth and faith. TBN does some good things, but also brings reproach to the lord's name - how this is so much like us all, I wonder? I try to focus on the good and reinforce what is good which is the message of a Savior, and at least that is happening - whether in or out of season.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

I've seen few good things on there. I watched some program the other day, and I had to turn the channel because I couldn't believe the cr_p I was hearing. It angered me in a way that such a twisted thing could be shown. I don't even know who was speaking, but it was craziness. :)

I'm glad you brought this to our attention. Just yesterday I was feeling a gentle nudging to avoid this channel. I know I myself have seen some strange things done on TBN in order to gain money. I once turned to TBN during one of their fund-drive weekends and saw a teacher using scriptural support to name a dollar amount we should send (let's say it was 7:4-12) She explained how the Lord gave her this verse and that we had to send $74.12 a month for a year in order to receive a blessing or prosperity on our lives. Later on that same weekend I saw that same teacher speaking again asking for a larger amount, again citing ANOTHER scripture! How can that be scriptural?! How can I give what she tells me? I need to give, if indeed I intended to give at all, what the Lord impressed upon MY heart - not hers. Right?

Now for a baby Christian, or someone not so mature or knowledgeable in the Lord, this can be really damaging.

EDIT: I edited out the name of the person I saw on TBN. I happen to adore her teachings and was really surprised at what I saw. This has not changed my view on her in anyway. I apologize to those who read my original post and I thank you for setting me straight. The intent of my original post was merely to give an example of why I think we need to be careful of what we see and hear. Just because it's from a Christian, doesn't mean it's right for us. (i.e. my own comments! I'm only human!!)

please people,
sometimes its better to be kind, than it is to be right.

yeah some of what tbn shows is very very wrong, but some of what tbn shows is very very right.
my pastor is a humble man, a man that sacrifices himself to see people and souls saved and that is his only motivation, and tbn has given him a pulpit to the world.

not everyone on tbn is right, some of them are evil, and some of them are simply genuinely decieved people and i pity them, but i will not criticise them. becuase the bible says to speak evil of no man.and it is nothing but the grace of God that keeps me from being the same way.

please!
please remember that whatever way your treating people whether they are right or wrong, your doing that to someone God loves!

and in this day and hour, God is so desperate that souls be saved, he will use people who are genuinely wrong or decieved, becuase the important thing is that people here the gospel of Jesus Christ. becuase the pickens are slim! the people who got it together might have it together but they aint doin nothing for the kingdom!
yes people are wrong, but atleast the gospel is being preached.
statistics say that 99% of preachers in america profess to pray less than 5 mins a day! TBN IS NOT THE PROBLEM! studies have shown many of the profressors in our great bible colleges dont even believe the word of God is the true undisputable truth! they teach it but dont really even believe it!
this filth pours out of dead people! TBN IS NOT THE PROBLEM! and alot of tbn is genuinely right. some of the most true, pure, unspotted truth of the word of God, comes through tbn.

nearly everywhere you go in the body of Christ today, you have to take the meat and spit out the bones. and its becuase they have same problems we do, we arent perfect. but it doesnt mean we label it off limits of evil.

paul said in 1 cor 6. that one evidence of a true man of God is to be
"..unknown, yet known of all..."
that means that if you are a real man of God, many many people will know you, but there will much about you that no body knows.
if they are real men of God, there will always be things about them you dont know.
so be slow to criticize, or really just DONT CRITICIZE becuase it could be that they are real men of God who you just dont know the whole story about.

God knows our dirt too.
if a man thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he fall.
dont let any christian come to think theyve got it together.

please know,
that the way God covered your dirt in the past and made you look good, God wishes the same for others too.

God will often reveal something to you, but it is not so you can go tell anyone about it. it is so you can pray. and if you do go and ruin that person or smear that person before the world and expose them, that will be the last thing God ever shows you.
God loves you with all your problems and wrong theology, and he does them too.

but alas...
this is something that is learned by being close the humble spirit of God, not in the rescourses of the mind. :(

We should hold up any teaching to the standard of the Word. If the teaching is found false, then by all means speak against the teaching. I don't think that we should speak against the teacher though. I don't watch TBN, and I don't even know who some of these people are who that you have mentioned beyond hearing the names from time to time. I would be willing to bet that each of them are where they are because they answered a call from God on their life. It's up to us to sift the teachings... but it is up to God to sift the teachers.

False doctrine must be exposed, and TBN has false doctrine. Several of the prominent teachers on that network deny the trinity and proclaim a word from God that has specific details and dates that never come to pass. One must use discernment to determine if the Jesus they speak of is the true Jesus Christ of the Bible. This is not the type of judging the He forbids us. This is exactly what we are told to do, to test the spirits, put everything to the test and hold to that which is good. From what I have seen on TBN, there is little good in the teaching there. You must decide for yourself if this teaching is Scriptural. But I urge you, if you do watch TBN, and this goes for any teaching, including what I am saying here, put it to the test of Scripture. If it fails that test, reject it completely and get as far from it as you can. There are many other sources of very good Biblical teaching that we have access to. I suggest getting hold of these and let TBN wither on the vine, as it were.

I enjoy Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, and TD Jakes (find he's my least favorite and I'm not as enthusiastic about him), HOWEVER, those are the ONLY preachers I will listen to on TBN. There is definitely good be gotten from TBN, but you definitely have to be careful of the bad on that channel as well and there is NO denying that one .

um,a few months ago we left a church because of false doctrine. Quit watching TBN,just stay close to God and read and pray. He will direct your path.
also wanted to mention that we have Sky Angel. If some of you don't know what that is it's Christian Satellite. We have false doctine and a bunch of quacks on their also. Jesus said that we would in the last days.Ask God to open your ears and your eyes. Your spirit will know whether it's right or whether it's wrong, believe me. I did.

If you have a tree with fruit, there is bound to be a few bad ones. Thats the same with TBN. I have no problem with it as long as it lines up with the Word of God. There are some preachers on there that are called of God and have blessed many ppl through Jesus Christ. Its crazy that people are so shocked that there are some bad "fruit" on there. The bible says no man is good but the Lord(in my words). Its pretty stupid of us to be so dumb that we would expect these preachers to be "so great" and accurate. All fall short of the glory of God. Just be careful and always see if the doctrine you are listening to is bible based and right with God. :D

It's TBN that is the complaint, not so much the Preachers that appear thereon.
