This thread is dedicated to the talented and amazing Miss Swift. She has had hit after hit, and I can say there is not ONE song of hers that I don't like. What's cooler is that she writes her own music. She is definatly country music for a new generation.

Awesome, we have a thread for Taylor!

I love her, I love her songs, I think it's amazing that she writes all of them. I think her songs touch a lot of people, especially young girls because we can relate to them. That's something we haven't had in a long time, so it's great.

Shania Twian had a song writer didn't shee!!! no way.

Shania writes her songs =)

Taylor Swift is my sister's current favorite artist. She even uploaded a couple of tracks onto my iPod. I have actually listened to some of it, and it wasn't bad. Miss Swift is much better than Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, that's for sure. I guess I'm a semi-fan of Swift, so far.

She's a great PERSON.

My older daughter is a huge fan. When she was 6 (2 years ago) she wanted to write Taylor Swift a letter for Taylor's birthday. It was a pretty good letter, saying how she was a fan, favorite song is this, favorite video is that, "I'm glad you won awards", "happy birthday", etc. On a lark, I put a SASE, a regular #10 size, in with the letter. I didn't expect anything back, especially in such a small envelope.

A few months later my husband brought in the mail...and I recognized one of the envelopes: my handwriting, my daughter's name on it, postmarked Nashville, Tennessee!!!

Inside was a computer-printed form letter, very Taylor-esque, with a picture printed on it. However, across the top, in Sharpie, was handwritten, "Dear D---, Thanks for your letter. Love you! Taylor XOXO"! (After a scream, my daughter's reaction was, "She spelled my name right!")

THIS year we got "Speak Now" for my daughter's birthday. I thought it was nice for Taylor to release her album just in time for my daughter's birthday. (j/k) ;) She played it for a week straight...and I'm still not sick of it. All I'll say about it is, if you liked "Fearless", "Speak Now" blows it out of the water!

Sorry to be on the flip side of the coin, but I don't like her one bit. In my mind, very little talent there. She's all about production - the costuming, choreography, etc. are more the focal point than the quality of the music. I live in the county that she grew up in, and so I guess part of my beef is that whatever TS does is in our newspaper like every other day. It's non-stop. What I DO admire about her is that she remembers where she came from and has given back to the community. Also, she seems really level-headed and a genuinely nice person. But, like I said, I don't see the mass appeal for her music. There are tons of untapped female vocalists out there that could sing just as well and probably better. Just my two cents though. I truly wouldn't go to a concert if I had a free ticket.
