Name: Tayanita (which means young beaver)
Age: 16
Appearance: Tan brown skin, long black hair, usually pulled back in a braid or in a loose bun. About 5'6 in height, lithe and gracefull, dark soulful brown eyes, pretty smile
Personality: shy, kind, caring heart, loving, animal lover, animals seem to sense her spirit and know she is kind and caring. When you win her trust you will have her friendship.
Powers: ability to talk to animals and also can become one of them. Physically she has taken on some of the charcterstics of the animals she has morphed to, but not to a point it has altered her features. She also has the ablity to heal. This ability can weaken her at times and will make her vulnerable to danger.
Background: Grew up with her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister, in a small town in Montana. Her abilty to communicate with animals showed up at a early age of 3, when she had wandered away from her parents and was found hours later at a wolves den in the forest behind her home. They knew that their daughter was a chosen one of this generation. They sent her to live with her aunt to be taught the old ways and traditions after the tragic death of her twin brother when she was 12. It was after this sad tragedy that her other ablities came to the surface. After parents had heard about the school Magneto was running, they decided to send their daughter there knowing she would be able to learn more than they can teach her. Also they were hoping that the school would be able to help her cope with her brothers death.
The past:
One day when they were 12 yrs old, Taya and her brother Chaitanya had a fight over him reading her diary. She got mad and ran out of the house into the woods at the back of the property. Knowing his sister well enough, Chaitnya followed his sister into the woods. Tayanita had shapeshifted into a wolf, one of her favorite animals and one of the first she had communicated with as a child. He followed the tracks in the woods till he found her on the edge of a property owned by a farmer. The scene he saw before his eyes scared him, the farmer had a rifle trained on a wolf; is sister. Chaitanya let out a war cry and jumped into the path of the bullet, taking a hit to the chest. All Tayanita could do was to change back to her human form and hold her dying brother in her arms. There parents found her there cryoing over her brother's dead body. When they were able to finally pry her away from him, Tayanita took off in the woods and was missing till late night. It was a very sad, quiet and changed girl that came home that night, no longer the vibrant child they remebered before the loss of her twin.
