  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am not the brightest bulb on the tree but I have never had a problem preparing my taxes, even when I filed multiple business schedules. I could do all my tax returns on a 3X5 card but the IRS insists on the forms and schedules. Millions file on Schedule 1040EZ (one page) and 1040A (two pages). For others who need additional schedules it behooves them to keep up with the tax laws by preparing their own tax returns. Of course there are those who need the services of certified tax preparers, but they are a very small minority.

Most tax forms are really what are called "idiot sheets". The hardest part of preparing most tax returns is gathering and organizing the information that is entered on them, not the forms themselves, and this is also easy with a good bookkeeping system that is kept up to date.
