I think that I had better clearly state that I am in total agreement with dreamcather, gwyn, JacqueB, nomad, etc.  I was just posting that verse because someone had mentioned it and it is the one people mention in opposition to tattoos so I thought it should be explicitly mentioned in the thread.  I had hoped that my post straight after that made it clear that I thought that this was just talking about avoiding pagen practices and was not relevant to getting a tattoo today.  I am considering getting one myself.

Later posts by JacqueB and nomad suggested that you thought I had just posted the verses in a 'fundamentalist' "here is a single, out of context, OT proof text that immediately prooves I am right and closes all discussion" way.  I apologise for giving that impression :sorry: , that is most certainly not my attitude.  I should have put my coment in the same post as the verses and made myself more clear.

yahweh nissi,

i didn't mean to make it sound like i was refering to You.i apologize.the part about people twisting scripture was refering to a conversation that dewjunkie and i had earlier that day.

when i post things here it's because i want peoples opinions whether i tend to agree with them or not.i was also refering to situations that i had encountered in the past.it was,by no means directed at any in particular.again,i apologize. :)

I have two tattoos - a flaming sword with wings and a christomorphic rose on a its cross hilt and a Celtic Cross entwined with ivy-like shamrocks.  The first is the logo from my old band Crusader and the second is a reflection of how my faith and culture are entertwined.  Even though the band broke up, I don't regret getting the Crusader tattoo since I still am, and will always be, a warrior for Christ.  I designed both of them myself and figure my skin will last longer than the paper they were designed on (hopefully) and I can keep track of them easier this way, heheh.  I won't get any tattoo done unless I design it myself, nor will I ever, EVER, EVER get a name of some girl.  I had a girlfriend once try to convince me to get her name and I'm so glad I never gave in...I've been broken up with her for 5 years now.
