Congratulations on completely trusting the Lord in this area of your life! My husband and I have been of the quiverful mindset for two years now, although we haven't been blessed with any children as of yet. As PegasusOnFire said, try not to worry about what others will think. Some people may be more supportive than you think, and others who sound discouraging may just be talking from their own insecurities and fears. The important thing is that you and your husband stick to the convictions that God has given you.

I know it can be kind of a scary/exciting time after deciding to become quiverful. It can be hard to let go of the control we think we have in that area of life, but once we realize that we really are not in control and God is, it gets easier to trust in Him.

I said a prayer for you and your husband today to remain strong in your new convictions. May God continue to bless you and your family!

Hello! I stopped to say CONGRATULATIONS on "taking the plunge" as you said. I completely understand your feelings and apprehensions. My husband and I decided to give up birth control completely as well last summer after reading Family Planning and the Lordship of Christ. This is such an excellent book. I would recommend you read it (I think it's only like 150 pages or so and large print) because it gives so many examples from scripture and counteracts every opposition to the quiverfull movement. If you feed a need to explain yourself to family and friends, this will help you better articulate why you have made the decisions you have. It is a private matter so you don't have to tell anyone anything but if you want to then it will help. It has helped me. By the way - just 1.5 months after saying goodbye to birth control we found out we were going to have a baby! Our little angel was born on 5/10/10 and it pains my heart to think that we delayed her coming into our lives for a few years because we had "things to take care of first". She is perfect and so are all of God's plans for our lives. Congrats on letting the Lord take control. Life is so much better with Jesus in the driver's seat!

I TOTALLY AGREE!

We have given up on BC as well - it took us nearly 4 years to conceive our son - so I'm not anticipating getting pregnant quickly; but if I do that would be fine as well. Since I'm already 33 (DH is 35) we don't mind having several children quickly.

My husband and I also became pregnant very soon after submitting and becoming quiverfull. Our girls are 18 mos apart and the youngest is only 1 month old. Now that the littlest is here, I've found myself becoming anxious and even afraid of quickly becoming pregnant again. We still believe this is something to be left to God so I have to continually turn over that anxiety and worry to Him in prayer. So congrats for "taking the plunge" and I'll be praying for your peace of mind and reassurance for following His leading!

As an advocate for natural birth, I have exciting news for you- the pain of childbirth is God's design and it's a GOOD thing! When you feel that pain, your body releases the highest natural endorphin rush that you will ever experience in your life. That endorphin rush is needed because it keeps your focused on your baby's well being. Not only that, it allows you to fall head over heals in love with your baby. Endorphins are the natural hormone that are involved in love.

Get educated on birth, all types, and take heart that while yes it will be painful, it's pain with an amazing purpose! It's not as scary when you're fully educated.
