That is like someone saying they don't like to eat steak but keep eating steak. Or someone who say they don't believe in horoscope but read horoscope every day. A real atheist wouldn't be answering questions high and low almost daily here.
Since yesterday morning, the alleged objective truth of the Christian faith has become a defacto component of the public policy of this, a secular state. That's why.

Why are you categorized as "other religion" if you are named after the BCP? Are you Anglican?

I selected that category because I don't want to be seen as speaking for my religious denomination and because as an Anglican--what is known by most of the Christian posters here as a "Bible-hating, Christ denying commie"--I'm not considered a real Christian anyway.

Why would anyone here think you're a "commie"? I may have had suspicions of you in the past, but lately I was beginning to reconsider and to view you as simply leaning left in your politics.

You posted a guy making the claim and a link to a website that made the same claim.

I am very clearly asking for the EVIDENCE that supports the claim.

Kylie, you may need to document and link the source(s) you use supporting your view of what "evidence" is and how it is to be interpreted in each instance where you're wanting any of us to produce truly relevant evidence.

Otherwise, some of us may be simply shooting blindfolded in the dark, trying to hit a moving conceptual target.

Thank you!

How many bad analogies can you give?
That is like someone saying they don't like to eat steak but keep eating steak.
Maybe it is the only thing available, or eating steaks in front of certain people avoids certain assumptions about them. (Doesn't eat steaks, must be a vegan commie.) Some people just don't care for the taste of beef.
Or someone who say they don't believe in horoscope but read horoscope every day.
Perhaps they find it amusing in its vagueness. Or they like to privately (or not so privately) mock people who believe in horoscopes. Remember there are plenty of people don't believe cats think in English, but read the thought balloons of Garfield everyday.
A real atheist wouldn't be answering questions high and low almost daily here.
Some of us like to discuss science and pseudoscience and this is a interesting place to do so.

As a bonus, unlike out in meatspace where I don't wear a tag so everyone knows I am an atheist, and there are clearly believers who need deal with the existence of non-believers and their assumptions about us. (Yes, I am referring to you among others.) I willingly provide that service.

By my count that makes 2 bad analogies to your bad claim.

Stop trying to present evidence to @Kylie because she is determined to believe that God does not exist and the Bible is totally false. Even although scholars have proved that the Bible is credible, she will ask for more proof, like she knows better than many specialists in different fields that have evaluated the Bible for more than 100 years. She acts like she has proof for everything she believe (which is not realistic, we know), and she will keep asking you for proof, but the truth is she does not want to be convinced. So stop wasting your time.

Christians believe in God based on personal experience, sufficient material evidence and faith. We should not pretend to have 100% evidence for everything. Our personal experience also provide a real basis for continuing to have faith in God. Let her use clever words to claim that our faith is blind, and on judgment day, she will realize how wrong she is.

Christians are far from perfect, but God is real and there is sufficient evidence to establish that the Bible is credible.
Believers recognize their sinful nature, turned to God for redemption and we continue our earthy journey until we meet Him.
For those that continued to harden their hearts against God and unrepentent until death and judgment, don't say you didn't know better.
Call this a threat or promise, but the truth is out there, and it will be done :)

I'd rather wait until death than have people like you use the government to step in before that. I trust God's judgement, but I certainly don't trust yours.

If you want to use what you consider to be the objective truth of the Christian religion to compel the power of a secular state you are going to have to prove that objective truth with objective evidence.

You won't know how you really feel until the real thing happened. This applies to earthly situations such as the death or loss of someone, how we feel when it occurred cannot be anticipated ahead of time. On earth, time will dilute the pain gradually. But on judgment day it will be too late for non-believers, the pain will live on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on ......

From your posts, although there may be political or doctrinal differences with other political stripes or denomination, I guessed you were a Christian, most likely mainline or close.
I guessed you were Christian. Can't hide your light under a bushel. You will be found out.
Good guesser me, yes!

LOL! I'm just not an "approved" Christian any more. Which means, I suppose, that I'm not a real American any more either, even though I'm a straight white male. Alas, now that Roe v. Wade is vanquished and Trump is back in office I'm afraid that my popish brethren will not be far behind me. But that's OK. The Real True Christians Patriot of the USA deserve some revenge for being called "deplorable" by a silly person who ran for President all those years ago. :)

13. When discussing Creationism, why should one never let himself stray from Genesis 1 or 2?

Because it's different than what God's one creation is showing us.

Is that why science has about ten different theories as to how we got our moon?

I don't know about the moon, but I do know about the geology of the Pacific Northwest. And it in no way is a reflection of a six day creation model nor of a global Noah flood.

So much for what "God's one creation is showing us" then.
