It was a good action movie.
Some weak areas set into the story.

1. Would 17-19 yr olds really talk about going on tour with U2?
I don't know but U2 has been around a while, do they still draw college/high school students?
2. Man gets in Taxi and starts beating on another man, the taxi driver gets out and runs to police. The one getting beat on runs away, the attacker runs after, police see the 2 running and start chasing them.
The one getting beat on runs into traffic and gets hit by a truck.
The attacker drives off in a stolen car. Police never get close to him.
3. Father tells his daughter to hide in the most obvious place to look.
4.When kidnapping women, if your going to drug them anyway, why fight them all the way to the vehicle, with them screaming and fighting. Just drug them and wait for them to settle down.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but some more thought into the specifics might have done a better job.

I thought they did extremely well portraying sex slavery in a realistic, but tasteful, manner. The acting was great, story was great, and I loved the action sequences. All around great movie.

Just watched Taken the other night, I thought it was a pretty good movie.

It was an excellent movie, though I agree with most of your complaints about the movie, especially when the guy is hit by the diesel. That seemed like slapstick comedy to me.
It really brought the whole issue of sex slavery to light as well as all forms of sex work. It's changed my perspective on many things for the better.

Bumping this because it's a totally awesome movie!

My only problem with it was "Why on earth would a parent let their teenage daughter go to Paris with another teenage girl to stay with some people they don't know?" I would never ever in a million years let my daughter go to a country overseas without me...heck, she's starting pre school next year and I get sick just thinking about that!

But I guess they had to let her go somewhere for the movie to work out

The superman saves the girl from bad guys around the world before anything is really done to her annoyed me. The fact that grownup women sex slaves tend to be eastern europeans tricked into it under the guise of getting legitimate jobs wasn't even mentioned in passing. It was a hollywoodized version of a legitimate thing going on but I think they fictionalized it so much as to do it a disservice.
