  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I did Taebo and Pilates for a while for about a month and lost about 10 lbs. Changed my diet as well :) Has anyone else had any success stories with Taebo or Pilates ? Or have any questions ?

I own the Taebo Workout DVD (it contains the Basic, Advanced, and 8 minute on the DVD), and the whole Pilates set :)

I have the entire Winsor Pilates set :)

I did a combo of Pilates and Taebo and lost inches in my thighs, butt, and waist, which are my problem areas. It was really noticeable when I put on a pair of khaki pants and they fit sooo well, so comfortably. And my other jeans did as well. I am on a mission to lose 20 lbs, so with Taebo, Pilates, correct diet, and lots of water, I should be able to do that :) My goal weight is 125. I am at 145 now (but don't look it).

I love Taebo! I've been doing it for about 3 years! When I lost 65lbs I did that along with a healthy diet. Then I met my husband, became pregnant, and now here I am! Back up to where I started. My starting weight was 309.5 and I'm down to 297. So 12.5 lbs gone doing Weight Watchers and Taebo everyday!

Well, I was "introduced" to Tae-bo in 1999 but then stopped working out for a year but now back on it since 2001 and went from 30 minutes four and/or five times a week to 60 minutes four to six days a week. Can't live without it. Good especially for the heart and lungs.

I have also had great success with Tae-Bo. I started using it real heavy in 2002, and went from 200 lbs. to a lean 185 lbs. Of course my wife was pregnant later that year, and I gained it all back in the form of sympathy weight. :sigh:

At any rate, I'm exercising again. Now I simply run 3 miles a day in the morning. But I'm thinking of dusting off the Tae-Bo tapes again. ;)

I love both Tai Bo and Pilates. Haven't done TaiBo in awhile. Need to start back up with Pilates, but finding a class to meet my schedule has been hard. I prefer taking classes at the gym or somewhere as opposed to using videos. Whatever works for a person and that doesn't work for me. Pilates helps me greatly with developing my core muscles to help in balance, strength training, and loads of every day stuff. I'm also a big yoga fan and do that more often than pilates....however, without all the weird meditation or religious stuff.

First of all, great job for sticking with a workout program and changing your diet- that's pretty much the hardest thing about any workout.

I've done both pilates and tae bo, but I would also highly recommend starting a yoga program. Not only does this help build flexibility that is very important to being physically fit, but it really helps your overall well being. The key to yoga is an energy exchange (something chinese and japanese medicine deals highly in) and it can be really exhilarating. I just started doing yoga regularly and it has greatly improved my mood and how open I am as a person. Highly recommend signing up for a class.

I have never done Tai Bo (spelling?), but I do Pilates on a regular basis. I also do yoga. I've had great results with both.

I also do weights (body pump) and step aerobics. Of all my workouts, though, yoga is the most demanding for me. I am also more sore after yoga than after any other workout.

As for weight....I've been doing weights since October, and I've GAINED weight--about 5 pounds. I'm totally disgusted--except that my pants are looser! I've started wearing size 4's instead of size 6!
