  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

will it hurt him at all to switch formula for a while, we went to costco to get some formula and all they had was enfamil lipil with iron and we use enfamil with iron, no lipil, wil it hurt him to go back to regular after we finish this one with lipil?

No, this shouldn't mess him up. If you switch brands there is an adjustment period, but this is the same brand. I've done some research on LIPIL (don't trust me, these are my findins and opinions, it's not like I wrote a thesis :p ) And the FDA doesn't really know what DHA and ARA does. They know where it is (brain, eye, breast milk) so they drew cunclusions. They do know, however, that babies can make it for themselves. I think it's a marketing ploy.

You can mix the two together to soften the change if it makes you feel better.

BTW, after 6 months use whatever kind you want, even if it's different everytime you shop, their digestive systems can handle it at that point.

Yep..I agree with everyone above...I think the baby may have an adjustment period to the new stuff...then again maybe not. When Lilly was first born we used breast milk during the day and enfamil lipil with iron powder at night...well then she got constipated...so the doc switched her to similac..which would just make her scream and she didnt even want the bottle at times...then we went to the enfamil lipil with iron ready to use in a can...she loved it..now we have changed it to enfamil with lipil and iron concentrate(doc approved)...it makes the same as the ready to use, but cheaper...and when you make the bottles in bulk you can pour two ozs in the bottle...and two ozs of warm water at feeding..skip the whole warming process and the running water calms her... and the only difference I could tell at first is she didnt get as full off of it...now she gets a extra 1/2 oz (per doc) and she is good to go....I can not wait til her body can handle mostly any formula cause I have four canisters of enfamil powder just sitting in the pantry (got them free from enfamil during pregnancy).
