CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The coordinated klutz
I got the Switchfoot cd..I don't remember when I got The Beautiful Letdown, I think sometime in 2004. But I just love it. "On Fire" and "This Is Your Life" are gorgeous..at a youth retreat the band sang the song "This Is Your Life" and the full meaning of the lyrics hit me..

"On Fire" really is a good song. There's a line in that song that struck me like a sacred moment - you know, when God just makes you hear what He wants you to hear:
"I'm standing on the edge of everything I've never been before"
I was focused in the song, really absorbing it, and that line just went through me and at that point in my walk, it was really meaningful.

I'm so glad you guys like Switchfoot. I love all their songs ^.^ but my favorite CD is a Beautiful Letdown I even like the song it has good meaning I can really agree with the part of "I don't belong here"

I do like Switchfoot a lot. I have the cd! It doesn't speak to me as well as others but the music is great but imho quality could be better.

Wow I didn't know how many people liked switchfoot (then again when I bought the CD the guy that helped me find it and the guy at the register knew and loved switchfoot), I kind of makes me happy to see that people listen to good music like switchfoot ^.^ My mom is so proud of me for listening to good christian songs even when all my friends are listening to music that they shouldn't be listening to.

A true original.
I have the first three albums they did, as well as The Beautiful Letdown ... I'm not sure if there are any others (?) but I love all that they've done. Their songs Only Hope (was that redone for "A Walk to Remember"?), The Beautiful Letdown, and This is Your Life are superb.
