• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hey, this might seem a strange question but I was woderin if this has ever happened to anyone else?

The last couple of weeks I have been feeling better...better than better actually!:) I feel like I did before i started all this kind of stuff i feel...normal(for want of a better way of putting it) Its really wierd-its like someone just "switched off" the urges! I just havn't been gettin them the last wee while. Its not even like other times when I've been coping better, other times I've always had a wee, nagging anxiety that the feeling will come back...this time...nothing! 'tis strange! Its not even like much has changed....if anything my sitaution is worse!I wasnt trying to quit...

Has anyone else ever been like this? Is it likely that the urges will come back at some point?

Sorry I can't answer any of the questions you asked, but I reckon Praise God that the urges are gone! And enjoy the freedom... don't think too much about it... don't dwell on the thought that they may come back... Be in the present & thank God for this miracle!

All my love & prayers,
Celtic

Finn88: Enjoy not having the urges, thoughts, or impulses. Do not dwell on the waiting for "it" to suddenly come pounding down on you. Focus like Celtic Camel said on the present. I would add the future too. Do you have goals to work toward. They can even be improving your mental health. Humans tend to be what they think. If you "think" that what has left you is going to return, then it just might. Occupy your mind & your heart with more positive things. You'll be surprised at how much you will continue to improve. Celebrate the work that you are doing because it isn't easy. But you are doing it!!! Keep it up. mamalonglegs
