I just saw a new thread I'm going to go on to swap a 1/2 star or less instead. I think that would be easier.

If your rep power is about the same and you start with just swapping (I'll just pick an arbitrary number -you can decided amongst yourselves what you are able to do) 5 reps a day and do that consistantly it will add up fast. The key, I think, is that you can count on those reps from the other each day.

You'll get the "You need to spread some reputation around before giving
