Swing Dancing

I'm surprised there are no topics about swing dancing here. Does anyone else do this? What style is your favorite? What move is your favorite?

I like swing... I just can't do it very well. All I can say it's fun to watch and try to do.

Yes, I'm very much a swing dancer. I taught for a short time before starting grad school.

Yes, swing dancing is a great way to get started in partner dancing, and there are lots of enthusiasts in virtually every city in the English speaking World (and elsewhere too!)

Swing dancing is one of my favorite contact sports.

Swing is great, when it's authentic and not the dumbed down/irrevocably altered ballroom version(aka what most people know as "swing".) I dance Lindy Hop, Balboa, 20s and 40s Charleston, Blues, and the I know the basic to Shag and Peabody.

I very much agree. I do mostly lindy hop and balboa myself.

i love it. My best friend and i made up a swing dance to a song and perfomed it at the prom, everyone loved it.
