Surveys are making a liar out of me.

Recently I had to go to a urologist. Okay, not fun but doc was fine and no real problems.

Then a day or two later I get a request to "Review" the service. I open it up and the first question is: "How likely are you to recommend this service to family or friends"? (I hate this question!) The true answer would be "Not likely at all"; I don't have any family or friends that are looking to go to a urologist and it's not something that really comes up when you are talking with the neighbors. But I think if I say that it will give a bad impression of the business. So I lie and say "Very Likely". Because I think what they are really asking is "How did you like our service"? The same survey asked how satisfied I was with certain other services, that I never used. There was no "NA" option, so I again lied and said it was "Excellent", even though I didn't use it at all. Finally at the end they had a place for general comments where I said "Your business is great, but you should fire whoever is creating your surveys."

The irony is in order to give a true impression, I had to lie.

"Well, it was real nice, but, I still have to go to the bathroom!"

Since you expressed a lack of faith in the survey, to me you adhered to the spirit of truth. I also hate those popups that will ask you for support or to buy something. The only other choice to continue to the website is something like "I will do this later."

Another one that got me in kind of the same way, was a purportedly Christian organization advertising I-don't-remember-what on Facebook or somewhere, but when I clicked on the link it turned out to be every bit as bad a click-bait as any of the other things we see these days. The whole effect was simply disgusting.
