Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

People run there lives into the ground.Even to run it to the end at there own demise. Only if God could get there neutral approach to his coming along side and mentoring to there needs, but the people can't or won't give up what they seem to think control is. Even knowing they are going down. As to look at a drowning victim. To a person in attempt of rescue they have to wait outside of there reach for the victim will try to control there own way out flailing and pulling to more sporadic control of there demise. Not stopping to surrender. Only to say they give up. Why can't we see that God is a friend?

It all goes back to our fallenness. I heard a Wise Pastor once say, "Sin will take you where you don't want to go, make you stay longer than you want to stay, and make you pay more than you ever wanted to pay". Sadly people may say they want to turn away from Sin, but not many actually do.

I read somewhere that one of the ingredients was chicken - amazing though how they got that crispy, delicious crust while keeping the inside nice and moist!

Wait, what?

That only applies to some people. I do things every single day that many Christians may consider a "sin", but I don't feel any sort of emotional or spiritual impact as the result.

Some people may not even be living in sin, so to speak, but they want utmost control over their lives.

Control is one of those things that humans crave and handing that control over to another human is hard enough. Handing it over to God is even more difficult for those individuals because he can't be seen or felt by them.

People try so hard and grasp so tightly to what they know and what they think will make them comfortable. Sometimes it takes them running their lives into the ground before God can finally get their attention.

I here ya. They can't look at the bible in mirror of themselves. To see to fix themselves. As soon as they put the book down they for get what they looked like. This is in comparison of James 1:22-25 While the rest of the world see's that they have a bugger on there face ,but proceeds to tell them that there alright.

No, that applies to you as well as every man and woman. The fact that you don't "feel" the results of it, at least not immediately, is irrelevant.

I prefer to hand control of my life over to the person who is responsible for my actions. Me.

Why not turn your life over to Zeus?

I'm guessing you are now a Zeusian? Or is this how you naturally treat people--by criticizing their beliefs?
Because of how you treat other people I would never in a million years read what you had to say let alone follow it. You have done more to turn me away from Christianity than any other person in the world.

Just asking...

The actions you take in your life are uniquely up to you. The direction your life takes may be up to a higher power, however.

Why not turn your life over to Zeus?

Because I don't belive that Zeus can or will do anything for me. If you honestly believe Zeus, or Buddha, or your next door neighbors dog is pulling the strings, then go with it and see what happens.

I'm not telling anyone what to believe, simply speaking on the subject of control, which certain posters in this thread have so eloquently proven that they prefer to hang on to. Made my point for me.

Line by line allhart to english translation for those having difficulty:

People run there lives into the ground. Even to run it to the end at there own demise.

People make bad decisions in their lives, which may even result in their own death.

Only if God could get there neutral approach to his coming along side and mentoring to there needs, but the people can't or won't give up what they seem to think control is. Even knowing they are going down.
If only they were to trust God to help their needs, but they won't because they want to be in control of their lives. They even know they're in trouble, but they won't give up control.

This is like if they were drowning, and someone was trying to rescue them, but they keep flailing and refuse rescue, and won't accept help. They won't stop flailing because they want to be in control. They won't surrender to God.

Why can't they see that God is their friend?

Allhart to English Translation:

I hear you. They read the bible but don't get anything out of it, they don't see their own sin or how it is condemned in the bible. It's like someone who looks at themselves in a mirror, then looks away, and immediately forgets what they looked like. Read James 1:22-25. The world wrongly tells them that their sin is not a problem and they're fine just as they are.

No, it is a perfectly valid question. What gives the God of the bible and more credibility than the God of the Greeks? Your insults and all around attitude remind me of why I left the faith in the first place.

Why does the God of the bible have any more validity than Zeus? Zeus is much older.
