I had been dealing with my binge eating disorder for 18 years with outpatient therapy, IOPs and Overeaters Anonymous. Finally, in April I looked into gastric bypass surgery, and went through the medical and psychiatric clearances in June to be approved for it. Well, praise the Lord, on August 28th, I had the surgery, and I am praising HIm for it.
The surgery provided me with a much smaller stomach, and that is my new tool to controlling my eating. I am on a restricted diet for six weeks after the surgery, and then I will be on a special diet for the rest of my life. The special part is no sugar and low fat. That is necessary to prevent dumping, which is being violently ill if I consume those two foods.
I am exercising and losing weight, finally, and so grateful that the Lord provided this for me.
Hugs,
Trish
