  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just ordered a really awesome bumber sticker from victorystore.com

It says "PROTEST HOLLYWOOD, NOT OUR TROOPS" and is white letters on a red background. I think it's great!

What other bumper stickers do you have or have you seen with patriotic themes?
I like that one.

You know, some folks just think that we should not have our troops in harm's way. That is all. It doesn't mean that those people are anti-American or anti-our troops. Just because someone disagrees with your political philosophy doesn't mean that they don't have the right to be here. America belongs to us all. We need to learn to be more tolerant and inclusive if we are going to call ourselves Christians - "followers of Christ". Right??

And on the other side, not all Conservatives believe this war is justified. We just want our troops home and want Hollywood to back our troops instead of making movies like Fahrenheit 9/11, which is not even a real documentary. But anyway, I created this thread so that people could share what SUPPORT bumper stickers they have for our TROOPS.

*sigh* I guess I will have to get a mod to close this thread. I started this to see what bumper stickers people have for supporting our TROOPS whether they want to be at war or not, whether they feel this war is justified or not. It's not a pro-Bush anti-Kerry or whatever you all are assuming it is thread. If you don't want to post something positive then don't post here. Start your own thread about politics and post away. Thank you.

I don't know who you are, but you seem pretty Anti America or Anti Bush

but the topic is this "Support Bumper Stickers ".

Your "bumper sticker" isn't very supportive. If you are American, and you hate it so much here, why not just leave?
First of all, how can someone seem "pretty anti-America or anti-Bush" from just three words??

Second of all, perhaps that was a bumper sticker saying.

Third of all, his bumper sticker just might be supportive to those soldiers who went to war against their own moral judgements!

Fourth of all, the argument "if you are American, and you hate it so much here, why not just leave?" is one of most rediculous arguments I have ever heard! I am a United States citizen and I don't agree with the war but I am not going to leave! I'd rather stick around and write letters to my senators and such and try to get things turned around to something that I like better! America is about Democracy, not if you don't like it you can leave!

:prayer:Oh Lord let the love of Christ shine!

I had kind of stepped out of this because some people were getting upset, but since it doesn't seem to matter to others...

Well, I don't think it is there to send in to take out a dictator under false pretenses which is costing the American taxpayers more than a billion dollars per month.

My favorite support our troops b/s happens to be:

AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE
BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE
THANK YOU

Selective patriotism? You only support your country when it suits your needs?

If you read any of Daidhaid's posts, you'd get that feeling. The person you're assaulting probably read a few posts and decided to confront him. I had the same thoughts myself, though I guess I actually reached some sort of understanding. Besides, Daidhaid claims to be a vet, and since I'm not going to accuse him of lying I'll afford him the respect that comes with having served his country. Even if he is a Liberal. :p

So lay off.

Second of all, perhaps that was a bumper sticker saying.

It probably is. Liberals have a lot of sayings about Conservatives, most of them insulting. But before you think I'm saying your that kind of person, I'm not.

Third of all, his bumper sticker just might be supportive to those soldiers who went to war against their own moral judgements!

If Bill Clinton had been my commander in chief, and had ordered me to say...go to Bosnia or take part in those ridiculous bombings in Sudan, I would have done it. I don't like Bill Clinton as a person or for his morals, but he is still my commander-in-chief (or would have been in this scenario), I'll give him the respect due his station and I knew what could happen when I joined the military...we might actually...fight people.

Fourth of all, the argument "if you are American, and you hate it so much here, why not just leave?" is one of most rediculous arguments I have ever heard! Honestly, from people trying to change "In God We Trust", calling all Southerners stupid, or all Conservatives racist, or gay, or dumb, and everything else that gets hurled at patriotic, right-wing/conservative Republicans, I'm tempted to say it too. Appearently majority rules doesn't matter anymore; but this is what happens when you start taking prayer out of schools. Give people an inch and they try to take a mile.
