Supid Question, Baptism / Confirmation

Hi Guys and Girls

Sorry for this stupid question. I have been baptized Anglican but not confirmed.

TBH Its only recently, the last year or so that I have really come back to the Church after not going through my teenage years and then coming back. It's amazing how things change when you have a family.

Anyway, I have had my Children baptized also in the Anglican Church and its good that my Son at 8 wants to come to Church with me.

But in regards to Confirmation, Is it a necessity? when should this be done etc?

Confirmation is the Western "second half" of baptism. In the East (and increasingly within the Anglican Communion), Confirmation is Chrismation and done immediately after baptism.

It is expected within most provinces that those who were baptized as immature persons (say, 11 and younger) to confirm their faith, usually between 12 and 16. I personally didn't until I was around 23, but that is when I returned to the fold myself (ah, the years!).

Your son can wait a few years. You should not. Talk to your priest about confirmation classes. At the least, it will give you a great reeducation and refresher on Anglicanism.
