Supernatural Childbirth

I did read it- but it left me very uneasy. I am one to have great confidence and boldness in approaching the throne of grace....but I think this book pushes the envelope a bit.

One of the things that I did find helpful- was praying over each part of the baby....ears, and eyes, and brain, nad head, and kidneys, and heart, etc....

I think what made me hesitate is that I know women who have had stillborn babies- and it was not for lack of praying. I think that book could set someone up for even greater guilt if their birth doesn't turn out exactly as expected.

I personally think that book is one where people want to impose a human viewpoint of God upon Him...when the reality is that His ways are not our ways, and any understanding we have here on earth is limited- it s but a dim reflection.

I read it.
I agree with Rose. I'm just not a WOFer. But I know God CAN and often DOES miracles... It is good to pray, to trust God for baby and delivery. But I don't think we make demands of Him, or blame ourselves for lack of faith it He has a differant way.

I also know from experiance that a pregnancy covered in prayer, and a mindset of peace and preparedness makes things go a lot easier. But nothing is perfect.

I took the class back in the early '80's at the church we were attending at that time. There were things I liked about it~ specific Scriptures for specific situations that I hadn't noticed before, the emphasis on natural childbirth vs medical interventions. But as the other 2 posters said, praying and believing and trusting in G-d is important, but Demanding a natural delivery with no problems is kinda pushy. I've had 9 babies, and every birth was a little different. There were elements that I could never have forseen. It made me more prepared for the Next one, but I still had to deal with the situations as they presented themselves.

If you decide to read the book (or take a class) ask the L-rd to help you sift through and glean what YOU need from it. :)

I read it and found it very helpful with praying against miscarriage ( I bled all through the first trimester) and praying for your baby generally.

I am a WOF'er but I knew I didn;t personally have the faith for a pain free labour, partly because I had never experienced it before so I had no idea what to believe for exactly, partly because in some way I wanted to identify with women down the ages and have a sense of achievement about it, pain and all.... which seems a bit weird perhaps, I can't explained it very well.

I decided to set my faith at a level I could cope with and believe for what i could, and relax about it all and be prepared to take it as it came. I could believe for a swift labour, I started contracting at 6pm, was 3cms and thus in 'real' labour at 10.30pm and delivered at 4.45am. So 6 hours officially and about 11 of contractions - which isn't too bad for a first.

Hi,
I have read Jackie Mize's book and listened to her tape and have since now written my own booklet too.... I really do recommend reading up on this subject and would encourage anyone it to 'go for it' and put into practice the beautiful principals of faith to see wonderful results!
I have had five babies and experienced supernatural childbirth including trouble free as well as painless labor and delivery. I also experienced plenty of pain with my first baby before I realised that I could put in extra effort to develop my faith and change my beliefs to line up with God's promises.
Please feel free to visit my new website where I share my testimony some more, share some insights re the scriptures, a review of Jackie's book and some teaching on how using faith is not a demand on God but a wonderful privilege of commanding the natural to line up with the blessings He has already given the believer.
My personal support on the subject is also available through my site, so others can be encouraged.

God Bless you all, ur sister in Christ, Barbara
