The effects in the first round of movies was stunning for the time ("You'll believe a man can fly") but it will be nice to see Superman get the modern digital effects, though I wonder if they will age as well as Forrest Gump already looks kinda fake.

The story better be good as well.

I'm definently looking forward to this movie as I am a huge Superman fan. The teaser only makes me want to see it more.

On a side note, has anyone ever noticed parallels between Superman and Jesus. Read this quote from the teaser trailer

Yeah I forgot to mention that. A lot of hero's in movies these days are paralled to Jesus (Anakin, I'm looking at you).

I'll be looking forward to this movie next year. Seems like it will be sort of a "Batman Begins" type of Superman movie, which hasn't truly been done with all the current Superman movies out there, they only show him as a baby and as an adult, not in between.

The quote from the teaser was taken from Superman the Movie back in 1978 (good grief, I remember seeing it in the theatre when it came out). I seem to remember in the director's commentary that they mentioned that this kind of theme was intentional and based around Christ.

The original was a great movie up until it moves to Metropolis...after that it got kind of campy imo.

I hope they keep this one both epic and tough like Batman Begins.

I'm a huge Batman fan (well obviously) but I'm looking forward to this movie. I like Bryan Singer. I like The Usual Suspects and both X-movies so I think he'll do well with this new Superman movie.

It's kind of a continuation from the continuity of the first two Superman films.

Mild spoilers...

Apparently Supes goes back to where Krypton exploded looking for survivors. He's gone for a couple of years, doesn't find anything and returns home to find that Lois has a son with somebody else.

That's a nice little twist. It's gonna make the story more interesting.

Of all the ideas that got thrown around over the past 15yrs, this is by far going to be the best one utilized. Man, I can't wait till that movie comes out. Did you notice the paralled between Bruce Wayne falling into the Bat Cave, and Clark falling into his barn? Bruce hits the bottom and Clark stops himself in mid-air? Goes to show who the heros are going to be, eh?

I loved that parallel. Though I don't know if Bryan Singer made it on purpose, it was something I noticed when I watched the trailer.
