  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Watched Superchic at Winter Xtreme this year. They were average compared to everyone else there. Also, they were playing at a Christian music festival, but all of the songs they did had no mention of God at all. Alot of people went to get food and sat down while they played.

how many times do people need to say on here that just cos a band doesn't have the word "God" in a song, it doesn't mean they dont' have a christian message.

i have more chance of getting my non christian friends to listen to a christian band that doesn't mention the word God but sings about positive things instead.

i dont' mind superchic[k]

I'm not saying a band has to say the Lord's name a hundred times, but if they don't say it at all or refer to Him in any manner, how is that not secular?

What was funny was that before their last song, Tricia (leadsinger) read a Bible verse and then they played. After their set, David Nasser comes out and explains how bands, who have no mention of God or imply Him in any form and then think they are doing someone a favor by reading a verse, are fake. I would agree on that one.

I wouldn't. The point is to bring them closer to God, and the verse might have been all that was needed to do that at that particular time and place. This of course heavily depends on the songs and the verses used!
