Taken about 6am. Smoke in the air makes for lovely sunrises.

More and more helicopters ferrying water buckets (they can hold 500 to 2500 gallons) and water dropping planes are all over the skys now. I tried to take a picture of one of the helicopters last weekend but the bucket was not in the shot (you can see the cable). Yesterday late afternoon I got 3 shots WITH buckets. I have yet to get a shot of one of the planes, I never seem to have the camera with me as they roar 1000 feet over me.

This morning the air was very heavy with smoke. My neighbor cannot go out anymore because the smoke gives her bad headaches. And on the drive to work this morning I noticed a LOT of birds were either flying less than 2 FEET over the ground OR standing or running across roads. I wonder if they stay low when there is so much smoke so they breath better?
