I was thinking the other night I got to do some biltong, been slack this winter.
The biltong I can buy don't taste the way I do it lol.
Wish I can get about 10Kg from RSA!
Gee when I was in Kwazulu Natal you but it at pick n pay! I thought I was in heaven!

I do mine simple.
Beef (round)
Sprinkle rock salt & coriander place meat spray with vinegar coriander and repeat.
Soak it overnight and hangout in biltong box

I remember the one we did had some mixed herbs and brown sugar as well. It was lekkerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Yep - we have packed some biltong spices to take with us. We really enjoy making it too.

I've really been missing South Africa. I have a few friends who still live in Cpt and they say it's getting worse and worse and to not EVEN think of moving back.

Hey - I wouldn't say it's so bad. I feel that it was worse in the late 1990's.

Yes - crime is an issue - corruption ois happening (but a lot is being brought to the fore) - and there are some leadership concerns leading up to the election.

But I am extremely positive about South Africa. I know I'm about to leave - but I am rather sad to be doing so - and it is because of a great work opportunity that I leave - no other reason (apart from God's leading).

We are not selling our home, and definitely have plans to return tom Joburg (and I'm not even a Joburg person - always thought Joburg was a terrible place to live - but love it now after 7 years).

Bad news makes headlines and sells papers.
