Hello. Things are going great. My new church rocks, the people are nice and Father J is ok.

Next Sunday is Sunday of Orthodoxy. After going to our regular services, we're going to a big Russian Orthodox church in downtown Philadelphia. Many people from different churches are going to be there.

My question: What is Sunday of Orthodoxy about? Does it celebrate the beginning of the Orthodox church? Thanks in advance.

The sunday of Orthodoxy is a celebration of the restoration of the icons in the 8th(?) century. Our community is meeting at the Antiochian church downtown this year for the procession.
