In another thread, you said we should worship every day of the week, so seriously, what is the problem? Either worshipping every day of the week is acceptable or it isn’t. Christ told us to pray without ceasing.

By the way, considering our Lord rose on Sunday, and the Holy Spirit descended while the Apostles were breaking bread on Sunday, it is clear this is a special day in the New Testament.

We should worship God everyday, but not every day do we worship and rest in Christ for a full 24 hours on the day He set aside and sanctified for holy use, created for man because man cannot sanctify themselves, only God can. Eze 20:12

Jesus had a special Supper with His disciples, He went to the Cross on Friday and rested on the Sabbath day and rose on the first day and went back to His Father’s work. In all of that Jesus never once said to change the main corporate day of worship from Sabbath to the first day, that came centuries later from mans traditions leading people to no longer keep the seventh day Sabbath holy according to the commandment of God. This is exactly what Jesus warned us about in Matthew 15:3-9.

To be honest, I have a hard time understanding why so many people try to fight the Sabbath commandment, who wouldn’t want to spend time with God on the day that is holy, blessed and the day sanctified by God that is meant to bless us Isaiah 58:13-14, what could possibly be more important.

We’re not trying to fight the Sabbath commandment! We worship on Sabbath and keep the day holy. We also worship on Sunday. Please don’t falsely accuse us of violating the ten commandments.

I never accused you of violating the Ten Commandments, only God knows this and never in my post you quoted did I say you violated the Ten Commandments. Many people fight the Sabbath commandment, there is a whole forum dedicated to this topic, but never did I say you violated it. I only argue on principles, not what other people do or do not do, that is for God to decide.

I also believe we cannot serve two masters. God tells us to work six days Exodus 20:9 and to only keep the seventh day Sabbath holy Exodus 20:8-11.

He never says to only keep the Sabbath holy. There are precisely zero scriptural injunctions against worship on the sabbath

Actually He does. Exodus 20:8-11.

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Do you have scripture that says we are to keep the first day holy? Or its a day sanctified or blessed by God?

There is nothing in that statement which requires working on the other six days or precludes such a day from being holy.

As far as why Sunday is holy, as well as Friday, it is because man was created and recreated in the Passion of our Lord on Friday, and on Sunday our Lord, after resting on the Sabbath rose from the dead.

One could argue that is more appropriate that the divine liturgy be chiefly celebrated on Sunday because the liturgy is literally the Work of the People, and indeed Vespers on Saturday actually takes place on liturgical Sunday, since Vespers is canonically equivalent to Sunset, when it is normally celebrated (except during Holy Week when Vesperal Divine Liturgies are celebrated in the morning of Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday), and that people rest and pray on Saturday. This is not my view, since I regard that the Sabbath is kept holy by the observation of Holy Saturday, which is the Sabbath par excellence, but since our Lord himself did various things the Jews thought were work and thus forbidden on Saturday, Saturday exists as a blessing for us, having been created for us as a day of joyous worship and recreation, and Sunday has been added to it, it being God’s will that the two day weekend exists. This is an example of Christ intervening in human affairs when the majority of people were still faithful to Him and recognized His eternal kingdom. And I believe the widespread apostasy is going away, considering that attendance at traditional churches is up, and the youth prefer traditional worship, and the birthrate among the more traditional churches has increased dramatically, while falling to less than two per married couple in the more liberal churches, and more evidence of a renewed submission to Christ’s unending Kingdom is the recent victory in the Supreme Court on the matter of infanticide.

Exodus 20:9 seems to indicate otherwise

and does Exodus 20:8-11

If you can point to the scripture that says this. I have read the Bible from cover to cover and there is no scripture that says the first day is holy. God only made the seventh day holy which does starts Friday evening and goes for a full 24 hours.

So you don’t believe the Resurrection or the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost were holy to the point of being perhaps the most sacred events in human history? Because that is what you are implying. The sanctity of Great and Holy Friday and Pascha is self evident.

Also concerning Pascha and Pentecost, their holiness is established in the Old Testament as they are enumerataed among the Jewish holidays.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion and this answer is different than my question which is where in scripture did God deem the first day holy? These were one time events, not a weekly occurrence which is what I am referring to. In all these amazing events can you point out in scripture where we are to memorialize these events as a weekly day of worship instead of the seventh day Sabbath or in addition to?

This was my question- where is the scripture that says the first day is holy, sacred and blessed by God. Only God deemed this as the seventh day. Gen 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11. The Sabbath points us back to the God of Creation, the God who created the heavens and earth and shows His creative and sanctifying power and we cannot sanctify ourselves Eze 20:12

God gave the Sabbath commandment, not EGW. God spoke it, God wrote it and it is part of His eternal law that is kept in the Most Holy of His Temple Rev 11:19 that cannot be edited in any way.
Since you keep bringing up this reference. (rev 11:19)
This is one of the scriptures that SDA interpret very differently from the catholic church.
In the RCC this is a powerful scripture (taken with what follows that is) pointing to Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant. Mary is in heaven, and Mary is then crowned as the queen of heaven.
Other scriptures point to this as well. Probably just google "Mary as the ark of the new covenant", and you will find a lot of resources on the catholic understanding.

The earthy temple was a copy of God’s heavenly Temple Hebrews 8:5 no Mary in the ark of the covenant, this is a teaching of the RCC, not one from God’s Word. We are told to follow God’s Word, that is the path we are to take Psalms 119:105 and anything outside of that is danger. Isaiah 8:20. There is no scripture in all of God’s Word that Mary is the Ten Commandments, which is what is revealed to be inside the ark of the covenant in all of God’s Word. Exodus 25:10-20. The earthy temple is a replica of God’s Heavenly Temple and the Ten Commandments are inside the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy under His Mercy Seat which is what we will be judged by James 2:10-12

You just made a very bad case for yourself. I quoted the Bible on Mary being the ark of the new covenant. And you claim it is not in the Bible?

Mary the ark of the new covenant a super short exegesis of scripture
One observation on the difference of SDA theology with other theology, is their weak understanding of the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant. So, there is a new covenant and there is an old covenant. Likewise there is an old ark of covenant, and there is a new ark of covenant. This is what is at play here.

Any jew in the first century would immediately catch attention to this. "wait, did you see the ark? where?"
And the image shifts to a woman. But not just any woman. A woman who has a child.
So there we have it. Just as the ark contained the law / the old covenant, so also the new ark contains the new covenant.

Lets quote the scripture as it appears you are adding Mary to the scripture, when its clearly not there….

Rev 11:19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

No mention of Mary. The earthy temple was a copy of God’s heavenly Temple Hebrews 8:5 and scripture reveals the Ten Commandments are in the ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy of God’s Temple. Exo 25:10-20 not a human being.

I prefer to place my faith in the Word of God.

you prefer to stop reading after 11:19. So this is where differences in understanding come in.

You are an experienced Bible reader, so I do not need to entertain you about chapter and verse divisions. Anyway here is one example that you read the verses the "SDA way", and consider that way to be "the Word of God", to the exclusion of other readings.

Oh, you mean the next chapter in chapter 12.

A women in scriptures represents a church, not Mary. Could be the True Church or the apostate church (Harlot) context lets us know which its referring to and nothing about Revelation 12 says the church is in the ark of the convent, God told us thats where the Ten Commandments are and I believe Him. Also, there is no scripture that says Mary is in heaven. When we die we turn to dust. I am sure Mary will be part of the saints that will meet Jesus in the air at His Second Coming, but thats a whole other topic.

OK, so the woman being with child is the church? We read later that the child is to rule all nations with a rod of iron (12:5), a clear reference to Jesus Christ. So does the church give birth to Jesus? The text does not warrant your exegesis.

The passage 11:19-12:17 is in catholic understanding a central passage about Mary. And the ark seen in the temple in heaven proves to be not the old ark, but the new ark, who is, Mary.

The women represents a church.

The True Church Jeremiah 6:2; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23-27
The Apostate church Ezk. 16:15-58; 23:2-21; Hos. 2:5; 3:1; Rev. 14:4

In this case the Church of Rev 12:1 it is God's True Chruch
Rev 12:1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.
Clothing represents ones character Isaiah 64:6, Isaiah 59:6

Rev 12:1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun (True Church), with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child (Jesus), she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. 3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon (Satan) having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

This is symbolic for what happened to God's True Church. We were warned after the departure of the apostles what would happen to the true Church after their departure Acts 20:29. God has always had a remnant people and God's remnant people are commandment-keeping Rev 12:17KJV and not the apostate church that thinks to change times and laws (the Sabbath commandment) we are warned about Dan 7:25 because man is not above God and there is no editing in God's Ten Commandments Deut 4:2, these are God's divine works Exo 32:16 that no man is above.

Revelation is highly symbolic, but Revelation defines itself through scripture.

Back to the scripture on the ark of the Covenant which hold the Ten Commandments according to the Word of God.

We are told the earthy temple was a replica of God's Heavenly Temple. What we see in the earthy temple was patterned after the heavenly Temple. Scripture reveals God's eternal Ten Commandments are in the ark of the covenant Exod 24:10-20 and NO scripture says Mary is the ark of the covenant or is the ark, this is a man-made teaching. I prefer to believe God's Word.

Hebrews 8:1 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. 3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. 4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; 5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Hebrews 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

Hope this helps.
