This is the time of year where a large amount of people make up or break up. It's a sad moment where all I can do is sit being single and watch.

Last year a group of friends suddenly got a partner...this year, a lot of my friends are losing it.

I see this every year, and I usually get annoyed at God for it....that I'm being left out...but this year, i'm not feeling that. It's weird...I still want a relationshp but it's different in a way I don't feel hurt inside as I usually do....which is why I hate summer, also besides the fact that it kills my orchids.

Anyways those are my views....I don't want to be single in my later life, but at the same time, I'm not worried about it for some reason........

Hey Icystwolf,

I'm from Sydney too, and I've noticed the same thing. But I think it's more than just yourself getting down when you see couples together. At least it is in my experience. One of my best friends who's female got a bf last year, and told me nothing about him (I had to go up and introduce myself when he was at a party I was attending just to find out his name, and it wasn't until this year that I found out how they met, and again I asked him about it). It's like there is this "Couples Club" that singles are barred from, and the singles club seems like it's just everyone complaining that they don't have SOs. And it's just as bad when they break up, because you end up putting your foot in it before they tell you that they have broken up. And we're the ones that feel guilty about it at the end, even though we're out of the loop during the whole thing. So singles can't win against the institutional might of the couples club. :sigh:

You know there is so much great stuff about being single.

A. you don't have inlaws to deal with - I have to ask God for grace with MIL every day lol.

B. You can follow God with your whole heart, and not have anyone interfere with anything.

Enjoy being single Icy, have a great time, and ask God to send you some friends who like orchids as much as you do.

You are in Sydney, anywhere near the beach?

ALso, as I remember reading elsewhere, you are 21 right? Don't worry, it's not like you're getting old or anything.

I understand where you are coming from Icystwolf. I came home for Christmas and most of my high school friends have girlfriends/boyfriends and some are engaged. I can't help but wonder why it's not me. And I don't think these are bad thoughts, but it can turn bad when the devil uses these thoughts to think lower of ourselves, compare ourselves to others, or turns us to a negative behaviors. God bless!

but we aren't plagued by the problems. ^_^
one thing i do is i tend to thread very carefully around the topic, and most of the time, i don't talk about it at all, so i'm always the one late on news... hehe. No big deal.
