  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i'm so glad God understands and although He's Just, He does not break the bruised reed and smoking flex he will not quench. (Mat 12:20)

Good scripture reference there:thumbsup:

Isaiah 42
The Servant of the Lord

1 "Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him
and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not shout or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.
3 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth.
In his law the islands will put their hope."
5 This is what God the LORD says—
he who created the heavens and stretched them out,
who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:
6 "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,
7 to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
8 "I am the LORD; that is my name!
I will not give my glory to another
or my praise to idols. 9 See, the former things have taken place,
and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
I announce them to you."

I could hardly stand up, so I put the but of the rifle on the end of the bed and used it like a staff to steady myself. As I straightened up I slid my cheek upwards along the side of the barrel, intending to stick it in my mouth once I got there. But I audibly heard, "NO!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING???????"....at that I dropped to my knees in utter desperation.

At that point I had been saved five years.

Here's one experience I know you'll understand -

I was all alone, having privately decided to die (again). I'd climbed up a mountain side and I was ready to jump off a cliff. I tried walking forwards and backwards, I tried falling with my eyes closed, but again and again it was just sort of like trying to walk through a wall. I got extremely frustrated, since I was so determined to die. But I had to give up and go back down.

Later that night, my best friend asked me, "holo, what happened around so and so o'clock?"
"Why, what do you mean?"
"Well, I was sitting reading for this exam, and it was like a voice told me to put my book down. I figured it was just my imagination, but the voice told me again. So I put down my book and the voice said 'pray for holo' - so I did. What happened?"

I told him what had happened, and we found out that it was at the exact same time that he had prayed.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.

I just want to know weather people who commit suicide go to heavn or hell? What if they got saved before they did it?:scratch:

The way I saw it was that you'd die with unconfessed, unrepented sin and that you'd go to hell. On another hand it could be asked, why would a believer in Christ choose to commit suicide, doesn't that fly in the face of God? He gave you life, you're not dead yet so there is a purpose for you being here...so why end your own life?

I have often wondered this myself. Being bipolar and having gone through major depression I often contemplated this...attempted it once and survived. Thank God!

Yes my friend, I understand.

It makes me cry though. Is that alright?

Of course. I think that not even my own mother understands how valuable I am to the Lord.

Just imagine if I could see other people like he saw me (and has continued to see me) that day.

They go to hell. Don't do it. If someone is saved, the Bible says, if you destroy the temple of God, you will be destroyed.

When I was 16, before I knew how to meet God, I wanted to commit suicide. But, something in me said if I did, I would go to hell. And that is what kept me from doing it, fear of hell. Maybe fear isn't a good thing, but it saved my life, and now I preach the gospel and want to live.
I really don't know the answer to this question.

For example, imagine that you are an agent for the CIA or a soldier who has been kidnapped by the enemy. You have information that, if the enemy knew, would mean the deaths of thousands of innocent people. You also know that you have a low tolerance for torture. So, you take one for the team and bite the cyanide capsule. (Do you go to hell?)

Or what if you have a family member who is in desperate need for a heart transplant, and you are the only possible donor. If you kill yourself, so that the doctor can take your heart, are you going to hell?

Only God knows the motivations of each person who has or will commit suicide, so only God can be the Judge. I don’t believe we should ever condone suicide for the purpose of ending life but we can not judge those who have or will. I can not know what is going through someone’s mind before they do but God can so I will let Him be the Judge.

If we take the World Trade Center has an example of the despair of those who jumped to there deaths to avoid being burnt alive, should we be so calloused has to judge these people of a fate that sends them to hell. It’s just not our calling to judge those who have or will commit suicide so the best answer I can give is we just don’t know, but God does and I believe He will be the Judge of each one of us on an individual basis.

My whole lot in life is to see myself as my Daddy sees me now.

I will turn the world upside down if I can get to that one place. :) :thumbsup:
