  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Suggestions for internal sins such as anger, envy, self centeredness?

How do we as Christians deal with these sins?

Hello Brother,

I have found that, That focusing on serving Christ is really key here. And when you see specific sins at work in your life we are to confess them, then repent (turn away from) said sins.

Ask God to overcome them, and be patient as Scripture says:

"But let patience have[bless and do not curse]its[bless and do not curse]perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
-James 1:4

I have found that, when one makes Christ the center of one's attention, he/she has no time to sin...

Focus on Jesus, focus on serving Christ, pray that He will help you when you struggle, and let HIM be the one to overcome YOUR sins.

God Bless Brother,
-The Current Lowest Servant

Take some time ot examine why you have those feelings.

Anger is due to someone doing something wrong to YOU.

Envy is someone having something YOU don't have.

Self-centeredness is YOU needing to be the center of the universe.

Pride. Pride. Pride.

Pray to get rid of that, not the symptoms.
