Synger, the Suggestion/Complaint area will only let one person comment at a time.

Could we start a thread HERE and let everyone contribute, and then have you or another Admin move it to Suggestion/Complaint?

The easiest thing would be for our biased moderator just to step down and save us the trouble of doing this, but some of us feel strongly enough about it that we'd like to pursue it since he obviously won't.

Can we do it this way?

Not really. If you have a problem with a particular mod, the process is to take it to their admins first. That's the appeal process. You can go to a post that the mod has done, and select "Feedback" next to the person's name.

That is a one-member thing as well, though.

On the other hand, if you post in the Suggestion/Complaint forum, the Reconciliation Team will read it. Their first question if it's a staff issue will probably be to ask if you've talked to the mod's admins. So it's best to go to the admins in the first place.

Posting in a public thread against a mod's actions is specifically forbidden under the site-wide rules. I would not recommend that you do that. But if you have a clearly biased mod, and you have evidence of that, the admins should be able to help you. If they do not, the RT can look at it. But again, they will expect you to have spoken to the mod's admins first.

One last note: please keep in mind that mods no longer have to be of a particular denomination to serve in that denomination's congregational forum. Nor can members vote them in or out as we could after the 777 reforms. In a staff review the admins would be looking how the mod does his job and how he interacts with you, not what the mod personally professes.

The interaction part is the worst part, honestly.

I went the "feedback" route already, so yes, I have talked to this person's admin.

This has nothing to do with his denomination. It has everything to do with clear bias and antagonistic behavior in our forum.

What do you suggest we do from this point on? Like I said, I did the feedback route and without going into detail I'll just say that it was not handled professionally.

I think the VOLUME of people that have a problem with this particular mod should be a consideration as well. It's not just me.

Thats true T&O, I hate to have to say this, but with the experience I have had here--is that the admins and mods have the 'us against them' mentality (not unlike the cops and judges of this land) and they will stick together in spite of obvious prejudices and biases exhibited by them.

And synger, I once read a legal article written by a judge, who said that when one of the parties in a legal dispute, having sufficient evidence of bias, asks the judge to recuse him or herself from the case, and said judge refuses, that in and of itself shows bias!

Synger, can you think of a reason why any mod would refuse to recuse themselves after being asked on several occasions?

I am closing this as synger has replied to your question. Furthur discussion here would violate the site rule regarding issues with staff deciscions.

It would be best if you focused your attention on the FSGs. If they are done well, then posting in the forum and the moderating of it will become easier for all.
