• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Such a blessing!!!

I just want to tell everyone how amazing it has been to read your posts on here. I have known that I was OCD for 5 years now, but always thought I was alone as a Christian OCD sufferer. I take a low dose medication and went to a psychologist for a while to learn how to cope with it, bit still always felt that I might still actually be "doing this all wrong."

Again, I feel a little more at peace knowing that I am not alone and have a community of fellow OCD believers.

God bless all of you!!!!

There are many Christians that struggle in this way I believe, many are afraid to speak up, but throughout history there has been OCD suffers who were used mightily by God (Martin Luther, John Bunyan, even C.S. Lewis suffered from compulsive praying as a child). I pray God will use all of us on here as well. You are definitely not alone, God bless you!

I know exactly how you feel. My first visit to this forum came from typing, "doubting your salvation" into a search engine. I was a mess at that point and had no idea that my problem was OCD. I knew I had panic disorder but I never understood that I had OCD. Thirty two years ago I had my very first bout of debilitating OCD. It lasted for years. It centered on horrid thoughts that I would harm my children. Over the years it's gone after different things but when it attacked my faith in Christ I thought that life could not be worth living again. Then I found this forum and began to understand that I had pure "O" OCD and learned so much on here and from research, going to therapy and getting on meds. for the first time in my life. This forum is and always will be one of the things that I've been enormously thankful to God for. A lot of doors have opened up for me to share my faith because of my OCD/anxiety disorder. So now I can thank God for how He's used it to grow me and still is.
Ditto's to what you said. I hope you'll stick around with us.

This forum has been a lifesaver for me, I just wish I had found it sooner, when my symptoms first started. Everyone here is really helpful, and if you think you're the only one who has said or thought something horrible, chances are one of us has struggled with it as some point as well. I hope you stick around.
