James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Make no mistake about it , the devil is real. He is constantly seeking to destroy all the lives he possibly can. This is a fact and not fiction.
I believe one of his greatest deception is, he is trying to make us believe that he does not exist. If we were given a brief moment to see beyond the confines of our own elements and see what is realy going on around us in the spirit realm, we would be astonished . While we acknowledge his existence, we need to acknowledge that he is defeated as well, Jesus saw to that.
For all the trouble he causes, we are too quick to give him credit for things he has not done. If we can blame the devil, we don't have to take credit for the destructive things in our lives which we have caused, as a result of our own poor choices.
Sometimes we are the source of our problems and blaming the devil, gives us just the excuse we need, to continue to ignore the gentle wispers of the Holy Spirit. The only power our enemy has over us, is what we give him.
Prayer
Lord, we come before you today, asking that you give us wisdom and the ability to discern and resist the enemy. Holy Spirit we are listening, speak to our hearts, and reveal the areas in our lives that need changing. Forgive us for using the devil as a way to evade the fact, that many of our problems are our own making.
You have conquered our enemy and placed him under our feet. Strengthen our faith and help us to stand firm. We submit to Your authority today,and ask that you continue to teach and guide us, in Jesus name.
