Perhaps, but without the wiki process etc. I am not sure we will have many options again.

It may go back to the old, rigid, deal with it phase where any change at all takes forever.

And we likely will not be able to discuss annihilationism again :( and I will have to start my campaign all over.

I'll campaign for that topic too.

However, I'm also going to campaign for separate forums.

It's gotten really bad in here, especially since we started trying to make our own rules, because we have almost totally different beliefs. A group like that is almost assuredly doomed to fail.

I mean seriously, some forums already have their new rules up, and look at us. We've just now decided how to DIVIDE ourselves up.

It's just not working. I think it was a bumpy ride for a reason and we should just admit defeat on this one.

I don't agree that Erwin has sold out, but I do think it's called Christian Forums and that's what it should reflect.

HOWEVER, if an atheist came here and saw someone ask the same question they would've, I think it would do a lot of good.

Wasn't there already an atheist section though?

I know my husband used to go talk with Wiccans (since he used to be one) but I don't think I've ever seen an atheist section?

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad and tragically true.

it took 4 day to agree to add 2 sub fourms. ridiculous.

Perhaps but we would have come to some decent rules in time, and I think the new main rules were fine too.

It is messy but it does work.

yeah, I know!

Maybe if we recognize the need to divide, we should just do it right.

I just really do feel like we should call this one quits and divide up totally.

I would like to still talk to most of you though. A few bad apples just spoiled the whole barrel, but it doesn't have to keep me from speaking with the ones I do get along with.

I'm totally for a big divide at this point.

A real one.

I still maintain that we had a good thing on the go. There's no reason why it shouldn't have worked if we could have gotten it off the ground!

A private, exclusive Traditional and Progressive subforum where topics that appeal to those groups could be discussed until heart's content.

A discussion/debate forum only for those who consented and wanted to take part.

A main forum where only neutral, safe topics and fellowship could take place for all involved who wanted to. No debate, no arguing in that forum.

Why couldn't that have worked? :(

LOL...honestly?

Here's why it wouldn't work.

If I did spend most of time really fellowshipping mostly in the Traditional section, there would still be some saying I don't belong there and trying to get me out.

When a visitor comes here and asks a question, a couple of Traditionals answer the question and the rest of the thread is someone trying to rip the Traditional's answer to shreds because of a past disagreement or WHATEVER.

Most of the question threads would end up getting moved to the debate section....and those poor visitors will still have to see that garbage.

If we split, there won't be any problem coming up with separate sets of rules, there won't be any flaming, there won't be any more finger pointing....it could be a really simple way to get this situation ended once and for all.

I've been here for 3 years. There have been good times and there have been bad times.

But there is always, always, always, division.

I'd think you'd want to end that as much as I do.

Well, it's late where I am and I am going to bed.

Here's where I stand: I think we had a workable goal, but it seems the Erwin thing is going to wreck what we wanted to achieve.

Therefore, if seperate forums are what we need to do, let's just do it.

Nothing is worth the this amount of strife to maintain.

'Night Night.

I agree, it really isn't worth the fight anymore.

We are two different denominations in a lot of ways.

It isn't working in this forum, Christ isn't being lifted up, and pride is definitely going to come before the fall.

I think we should hold each other up and help each other make the split. It's for everyone's benefit.
