• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Style!!!

Hi Ladies of CCC!

At my church, I started a ladies group called STYLE. It is an acronym for Seniors Teaching Younger Ladies Everything. It is based on Titus 2 in which older ladies are instructed to teach younger ladies "good things".

We have many talented and crafty people here. It will not be easy to hold online courses, but I think we can do it!

If you are interested in participating in this, please post here. Please state the things that you can teach and the things you would like to learn.

Then, we will organize, decide if we keep this here or go to the Women's section or the Craft area, whatever. Any ideas you have are welcome!

I think it would be neat to have a sub-forum within this group just for Conservative Christian Women where we could post and talk about all this stuff. The men could have one too of course! LOL

That way we could keep it "in the family" so to speak, but not clutter up the main CC Board? :)

I don't know what we would have to do to get approval for a sub-forum. No extra rules though! LOL

:sigh: Only one new dress...The rest were old turtlenecks.

I have three requests in now. They are Acadamy Award dresses.

Q has everything ready to go, but it is hard for her to get in and load stuff. She has done an awesome job.

I make homemade bread, crochet, garden, make homemade jam, and homeschool. Maybe I have something here that I can help someone with.

Also, I've been married 24 years. Does that qualify me as an "older" woman? LOL.

Fraid so, LOL! I am turning 40 this year. I have been married 21 years.

I really want to learn how to make home made pickles. Do you know how to do that?

Just celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary, but I don't want to call myself a "Wise Woman" yet! ;) Still, I've always wanted to help younger women -- especially young mothers.

We've got to save some of the wisdom our mothers and grandmothers gave us and pass it along to as many as we can, IMHO. The reason I see for it is this: If anything ever were to happen and people didn't have all the luxuries we had today, there wouldn't be very many who could care for themselves, not knowing how to get by like everyone used to... (Making Clothes, Growing and Preserving your own food, etc...).

Well, anyway, that's why I'm trying to teach my children some "old-fashioned" things as well. I want them to be able to use an oven, and not just a microwave! LOL Oh, and we cook over the open fire when we camp, so they're familiar with that too! ;)

You got it!!! That is exactly how I presented it to the ladies at church. I told them that in just a couple more generations we were going to lose these skills if we didn't teach them to younger women.

I once made pickles that came out less than crunchy. Does that count?^_^

Oh, and I also like to eat pickles. Can I help someone with that?

Here is the Style Vision Statement: This is the same one we use at our church.

STYLE VISION STATEMENT

Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Proverbs 31: 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

  • We believe that God created woman to be a helpmeet to her husband. We believe that God has divinely placed women in the role that is best suited to those universal feminine qualities that God designed us for. These universal qualities are love, sympathy, friendship, helping the needy, creating a tranquil home, the raising of our children in the admonition of the Lord, and supporting our husbands in all times and in all things.
  • We believe that God created man to be head of the household and has placed the burden of spiritual leadership on him. The role of the wife is to create an environment of peace and comfort so that the husband may find respite from spiritual battles he has fought in the world.
  • We believe that God has ordained women to teach good things to other women as outlined in Titus 2.3-5. It is our honor and duty to pass down wisdom to our younger sisters in Christ so that they may enjoy the fruits of a Godly marriage and home.
  • We believe that God has ordained women to bring glory to God by being the jewel of honor, virtue, and praise as outlined in Proverbs 31. The Proverbs woman works with her hands. She insures the comfort and security of her household. She is well trusted by her husband and children, and speaks only kindness. Above all, she is God-fearing and teaches her children respect and love for the things of God.
  • We believe that revival begins in the home and in the individual. A woman who enables her husband to do more for God is to be treasured. We can enable our husbands by taking more on ourselves, by praying and fasting for our men, and by always being available to offer advice, insight, and a sympathetic shoulder.
  • We believe that God hears the prayers of His daughters when they cry out for the salvation of their husbands and children. We believe that Christ can be revealed through us by loving action towards those who revile us. By faith, and by embracing the role that God has given to us, we can win our loved ones to Christ.
