Has anyone done any study abroad? Where do you go? What was the experience like? Would you do it again? How did you fund it? I'm looking into study abroad next summer in Mexico (I'm a spanish major) and I want to hear some other people's experiences and tips. Thanks!

One quick tip be careful with what you sign. I was supposed to spend the last summer in Rome, and I figured out last minute that if my student loan went through I would have had 3 Euros a day to live off of for 2 months. So I dropped out of the program last minute, and because I signed a paper about the refund policy I now have to pay over $7,000 for a trip i couldn't afford to go on in the first place.
If you decide to go on a trip look for one through your school, and try to get financial aid to cover some of it. Good luck coming to a decision.

yeah I was planning on doing one through my school, but because it's during the summer, financial aid won't pay for it. I will get a partial scholarship, though. But mostly I'm coming out of pocket to pay for it.

I spent my last year of high school in Portugal. Studying abroad is, in my opinion, one of the best things you can do, although it's also one of the most difficult. I know college programs tend to run differently, but feel free to ask any questions about what it's like to get adjusted to another culture, etc. (That's the biggest thing, make sure you have a full appreciation for the fact that you're living somewhere with a different culture from the one you've experienced!)
