• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I want to read more and become one of those great apologeticists that has an answer for like everything but I'm also terrified of not being saved and being rejected or blinded by God so that I cannot be saved because He simply doesn't want me anymore (blasphemy, apostasy, mark of the beast....). I just want to come home. But I'm so afraid. I'm also in a state of some panic right now (not as bad as some full-blown panic attacks but there) so sorry I can't cite where all of my fears come from. Just need some help.

God helped me overcome my fears using this song, and allowed me to come home using this song... so perhaps it might help you too.

The message is you're never too far to turn to Christ, and no matter what you've done you can be forgiven if you seek such forgiveness. I probably already was saved before He gave me this song, but I was wandering and felt cold in my heart and was afraid a lot. He's helped me a lot, though sometimes I'm still afraid.

Hello friend. This sounds to me like one who wants to do something great in religion, but does not know God or His ways. Are you a "born again" believer in Jesus, the Christ? That would be the first need ---see John 1; John 3; John 14 in the Bible. One must be saved as a "child of God" before one can have the gifts of God for any kind of service. I pray you will enter into the Christian life as God shows and find communion with the Savior and His leading, teaching, and blessings. I will pray for your good.

Well I thought I was born again but stuff like that makes me question. I can't have any confidence. I've prayed again and again to be saved and I feel okay sometimes and then someone says "I don't think you're born again are you sure" or "true christians don't X" and then I'm back in the anxiety and depression. I don't mean to attack you but how can I be sure when everyone's like I don't think you're saved, You don't know God at all?

I appreciate your thoughts, friend. Being saved is about a personal relationship with our Savior ---the Lord Jesus (note John 14 in your Bible). One cannot just keep hoping to be friends with someone, but must meet them ---right? Sometimes people make it too complicated. If you were told about a very nice person in your neighborhood who loves people and was a very great person, would you like to get acquainted with him?
The Lord Jesus will be pleased to come into your heart by the Holy Spirit of God, His Father, and He waits to be invited in real faith and trust. Talk to Him as the Bible shows in the Gospel messages. I urge you to read all the four Gospels ---Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, which show the Lord Jesus in different ways, who is God's beloved Son, our only Savior who died on the Cross to pay the price of redemption for us. Make Him your best Friend and walk and talk with Him daily in complete faith, and you will find the presence of the Godhead ---Father and Son by the Holy Spirit of God. God says: "He that has the Son has life eternal" (1 Jn. 5:10-12). Write me anytime!

I suspect you do not have a sound biblical basis in your background. There is far too much condemnation and general negativity in what you posted and probably has resulted in where you are at now.

Feel free to PM me if you want some healthier resources to examine. You are not likely to change very much unless you are willing to do some 'homework' and apply yourself to some determined reading of good materials.

Just think upon the Lord Jesus --talk to Him, trust Him as your best Friend. A relationship with the Savior from God (His "...beloved Son") is our only hope for now and eternity. Read John 1; John 3; John 14 in the Bible to get an overview of what God has for us. Look up always!
