  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone~!
I've been stuck, and just over all lost in everything, I'm trying to not only understand who I am but, also who God is. I don't know where my life is headed but right now I'm trying to live in the present. I honestly don't know where to begin in the bible, or just in general with anything. I've been trying to find out how to pray more often, I've tried but its honestly more difficult then I thought.

On top of the fact that I'm so lost within my faith, I don't know what to do with myself. I don't have any hobbies outside of makeup. Over all I'm just tired of sitting here wondering what I should be doing. Where I'm suppose to turn to take the next step.

Hi Seraphina45, I know how you feel and have been there many times and still battle it. I can probably only say things that help me out and its just a process of small simple steps.
Try and remember faith is not by how we feel but on the finished work of the cross and what Christ did. Examine yourself and see if you have unconfessed sins and repent. Praying is difficult but commit yourself to it no matter how you feel, even ask God to teach you to pray as the disciples did. Just start reading the book of John in prayer despite how you feel and just keep reading as the bible tells us to study and show ourselves approved unto God. I know the frustration of not knowing what to do. Just remember what God says " be still and know that I Am God". He has you in this position for a reason as we all have a wilderness experience, in these times when seem to have no direction is when we grow the most trust me on that it can work to your spiritual maturity. And here's some ideas of some things maybe you can do, just go out and try to find ways to help people. Jesus commands us to share the gospel try doing that it brings great joy to yourself. Just keep praying and ask God what little things you can do because in reality no thing you do for God is little and don't give up because God never gives up on you. I hope some of that may have helped, its just a matter of taking one step at a time. God bless you.

Thank you so much for your response it means a lot to me. It's great knowing that people are here and have experienced the things that you go through with faith. I'll try and start praying and praying for God to help me with it too. And reading the book of John. Again thank you so much!

Your welcome. Just try to remember not everything needs to happen at once. Growing in faith is a process and God can use you no matter how you feel. And Jesus said to be anxious about nothing and to cast all your worries and burdens upon Him. No matter how long the dry place may be God is really working on you in places you may not even know about and one day down the road you will see why. Remember that its not about you but Him. Take care.
