The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. i feel like i wasted most of my life by sinning being a fool and doing foolish things...and i didnt grow to be the person i like to be...so i feel all awkward and cant function in my life, in my being now.....i feel unborn..i have so much regret and sorrows...thank you for praying for me..
One thought I had was to wonder why you don't have a job, but maybe your kidney issues explain that, or maybe you are raising kids. A job would give you money to spend. Another thought was this: How do you know the Lord is angry with you? Another: The Lord doesn't abandon anyone - he is with each of us, knowing our every thought. All I can think to suggest is to remind you of Paul's words (1 Thess 5:17): Pray constantly.So i am 34 and feel like i never had a life or got to expeirence the life i wanted. i feel like most of my life was wasted...i am really struggling terribly. i dont have a car anymore and no money to buy one anytime soon so its hard to go places and do things i want. i just sit in my room all day depressed and i am tired of doing that. it gets old. God has also kinda abandon me and is angry with me because of my rebellion towards him so i feel entirely spiritually dead and alone...i dont know how to turn back to him without feeling guilt fear and stuff like my shamefulness with that is consuming me. i dont really have anyone to talk to but my mom and sometimes she doesnt understand me. i also have been very sick (kidney issues) and the doctors dont know whats wrong with me so im really frustrated with that...all these things are just making me really stressful and i dont know what to do anymore. i just want to cry. i am not sure what kind of advice i am looking for but i needed to vent this out.......i guess you can pray for me?
No its ok...you are saying the right things..thats some of the reasons honestly but its not just that...i feel bad scared and so much sorrow because i messed up in life and with God and now he is against me......and i dont know how to fix it....Hello Jenniferdiana, the peace and love of Jesus Christ to you.
Counseling is not really my thing so I'm hoping I don't say the wrong things
But may I just put these points to you? Take or ignore as you feel best.
1 - At 34 you are young, young, young.
2 - That you have a medical problem is certainly a major reason why you feel down and disfunctional. Don't keep beating yourself up because of it. If we are ill then we are ill and need to ride it out with whatever strength and grace God gives us.
3 - Do you have contact/involvement with a christian church, with Christians. People on-line usually do their best to say what they think is right and helpful but it's never going to be as good as real face to face friendships. Pray (and believe) for that.
4 - I noticed Jennifer that somewhere you said you felt 'unborn' and from other things you've said I'm wondering if indeed that may be the core of your problem? I'm not saying, It is. I'm wondering if it is?
When you read what The Lord said to Nicodemus in John 3 and what He says in Matthew 11:28,29 are you able to understand and identify with what He says? In Christ is complete forgiveness and newness of life for all who come to Him. Remember faith comes before feelings. When we come to Christ He comes to us and never leaves us or forsakes us.
5 - Lastly, as Skywriting suggested, as much as your health allows see if you can be of help to others.

I dont know how to act in public because i never really got out much and i dont know how to function and come alive and out of myself because i feel like im trapped in my own body when im out in public, i feel really shy and slow if that makes sense..i hate the way i look sometimes...and feel insecure how i may appear to people because i am so used to people teasing me sometimes..i feel like people are laughing at me sometimes...and when people look at me i feel afraid..i cant make eye contact with people either esp. men...thats why i feel awkward..What is being awkward and what is being normal or not awkward? I wanted to ride an elephant one day. We had a horse that we boarded and rode friends' horses, as we traded off. Was it odd to want to ride a camel and elephant? Who cares? Did it, and now have some great memories from it. You have to get out there and do the things you like. Let others live their own lives. You need to get on with yours.
yea thats kinda hard though when the consequences come at you...When we make mistakes, we learn from them and continue on.
I meant my sins..when you said we should learn and move on from our mistakes my sins towards God came to mind and i really learned from them but its hard to move on and forget about it when the consequences are there...None of us win at everything. You will be very good at some things and not so good at others. That is life. People at times will make hurtful comments, but you need to ignore them and realize that they don't really know you. They have no right to judge. As long as you are a kind person you're adding some good to this world.
Yes i know God is a forgiven God and blesses people and wants to see us do good. He has blessed me..he was great to me..im the one who messed up and failed him..i didnt do the right thing..i just feel so bad about it and cant get over it because i hurt myself and wish i did better...and i am experiencing things...What type of consequences do you mean? God forgives sin. He wants to bless His people. I recall a song as to - Who did you/ I tell today about Jesus? Who did I tell today about Him? Who will know the splendor of heaven, all because I told them of Him?
i tried taking singing lessons but that didnt work out because i never could get it right..because i like to sing...but i found out i had no talent there..lol
i used to play the clairnet...
i took ballet because i like to dance but that didnt work out either..
i like to write sometimes...i always wanted to write a book but thats really hard to do..and get by
