struggling

Am struggling at the moment with the voices the devil and demons telling me to kill myself
Am listening to Christian rock trying to get them to stop i pray they stop
i dont know for how long i can go with them saying these things

If you meditate on gathering your soul within you, where it is safe, you should have less of a problem.

Do not meditate, that will make your problem even worse. Instead do listen to praise and worship music. Also, if you can, take communion even on your own.

You can deliberately make your problem worse while meditating, just the way you can make yourself suicidal by reading the bible the wrong way.

Proper meditation, methodically practiced, is known to cure many ills, whether by experience or experiment.

Notice that people who try to dissaude you from meditating, are typically alarmed and upset by it? They would not be like that if they had actually meditated to the proper conclusion.

If your already in a bad state of mind trying to force yourself to be in a good state of mind (meditating) isn't going to help. I've had similar problems and have found that taking medication helps. See a psychiatrist and or a psychologist. God can and will provide relief in a variety of ways. Even King David found relief in a land of foreign gods while Saul was trying to kill him.

You are not talking about meditation, but you are complaining about it for the wrong reason.

Meditation is a New Age concept, and goes nicely with things like Buddhism and yoga. It leads to a pursuit of higher spiritual awareness and does not lead to God. It is false and leads astray.

The Bible does say that we should meditate on God's word, but that is completely different to what you have been suggesting. To meditate on God's word means to read it, think about it, talk about it, pray about it, ask God about it.

Meditation means not responding to the effects of your illness, finding a balance and changing your illness triggers so that you are less ill.

You are talking about popular concepts associated with meditation that are not actually what you have arrived at out of personal experience with meditation.

What I am talking about is concrete concepts arising out of real meditation that have I practiced and gotten experience in and proven to be effective.

So before you ignore what scripture says when it says "be still and know that I am God" and start talking about doing things with scripture that actually belongs first to meditation not scripture, consider that actually God is on my side, has shown me how to meditate and has saved me from an immense amount of personal conflict with my mental illness by diligently encouraging me to practice it.

At no point have I said you are wrong, if you believe something is wrong, that is something for you to figure out with your own time with God, it is nothing to do with meditation.

Hi XinsanityX

A piece of good advice to you would to get involved with some Christian organisation or spiritual group. The people you will meet there will help you. Personally when I was having problems with schizophrenia I joined the Legion of Mary. They're a Catholic lay organisation. Anyway, if youre not Catholic, there are other Christian organisation that you can join. Ask at your local Church or google it.
