• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey Brothers & Sisters,

Actually I am a Christian for more than a year but I think I am quite new compared to most of the others here...

I am struggling with an internet issue... You know those websites we should not visit!!! Can you please help me? I am praying about it everyday, I am asking forgiveness but whenever these websites pop-up on my computer, I can not control myself...

I recently got the book "Everyman's Battle" and I am hoping it will help me towards victory. My wife is not being much of a help and support, whenever I try to tell her I am struggling, she screams and yells and tells me I am sick...

Sometimes I am doing good, I read the bible and pray and feel clean. But later, those ugly thoughts are popping in my mind and I feel so bad... I feel like I am poisoned with this stuff and can never get it out of my system.

I am sure this issue must be discussed on this forum, you can also direct me to previous threads. I am not hiding and I acceopt I am sinner, I need help...

Thank You and God Bless You...

a long journey ahead

You and your wife might want to go for counseling.  You have to understand that she is feeling inadequate and will continue to feel that way as long as this struggle is going on.

Jesus said that if your eye offends you to pluck it out.  What he meant is that we must guard what our eyes look upon.  If you are battling with images over the internet then maybe you should get rid of your computer.  You are right, pornography is a poison and it poisons even those who don't view it (your wife).  It is also addictive which is why you really need counseling to overcome this.

I'll be praying for both you and your wife.
