i've been struggling to spend time in prayer...i have been lucky in that most of my life this has been easy for me and i've prayed all the time...where ever i am...what ever i am doing...

i have grown in alot of ways in the last year i've had alot of changes in my life not all of them positive and i guess the changes have distracted me from focusing on God in the same way i am used to. (I have been dealing with grief)

I am trying to get back to where i was at...praying with others, walking and praying but hmm i'm not there yet. Ok, i've posted to ask when and where do you pray?? When you stuggle with prayer what do you do to "break the drought"?

The only thing you can do in a situation like that is to make a concious decision that you want to spedn time with the Lord in prayer, and follow through on that. I think its important to make time for yourself to be alone in prayer, even if its just a few minutes when you first wake up in the morning or as you're driving to work.

My advice would be to give yourself time. Dealing with grief and sometimes the anger at God that can go with it can take some working through - and you want your prayers to be genuine. I agree that a disciplined schedule can help you but if prayer has never been a problem for you then it might be a case of just going easy (like LT said, a few minutes a day) until you want to pray again. God knows and understands what you're struggling with don't worry :) and he's for us not against us so don't be too hard on yourself.

I agree with Sherri :)

Sometimes we have to work thorugh stuff first before we can be there 100% in prayer.

I struggle most when I am guilty of sin and I feel like I cannot pray-- however i know I can-- just stupid me, I guess.

Making time to just pray, read and just give some time to God to talk to you--is always a great thing.
