  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, I quit smoking about 2 months ago after 17 years of smoking a pack a day. I tried quitting "cold turkey" a few years ago, but it didn't last very long. Now I'm on the nicotine lozenges. Almost daily I still have the urge to smoke, but I take a lozenge and the urge is temporarily subsided. Please pray for me to help these urges to stop so that I can now quit the lozenges also. Thank you kindly.

Dear "I Praise Him." Someone very close to me is named Bill, and he has smoked all his life. He would love to quit--and I would love for him to quit for his health. If you will PROMISE to intercede for Bill every day, I will PROMISE to pray for you every day. Deal??? It gives us strength to pray for others in the same situation. God help you and God help Bill.

God will give us the victory, but we must be willing to fight. ;)

Quitting smoking is considered harder to quit than most substances including heroin. I feel for you! Hang in there and know you CAN pull through! The first few months are always the hardest when it comes to getting over something but after that it gets easier as time goes on. No matter what happens don't give in to the temptation! Pray if it gets tough and just think of something other than tobacco when you are being tempted. I hear exercise helps you quit as well... Not sure how true that is but it can't hurt. :p

I'll pray for you. Hang in there. ;)
