  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Stephen F. Austin right? I'm considering going there next year! Well let me first start off by saying you are truly not alone. But this semester is a chance to start over completly new! That's the amazing thing about Christ. Every day we have a chance to do it differently and stand in awe of what our Father has given to us. My advice to you is to find solutitude. The best thing to do now is to be still before the Father. Lay all of your burdens at his feet and relax. God hears his servants and he will give you strenght during rough times. Prayer is another huge part of communicating your request before God. Tell him your heart's desire and tell him you need his guidance and support. Remember you are NEVER alone! I pray that you will find peace of mind and learn to lean and trust in our loving God!:crosseo:

God Bless!

Begin to do things that places things out of your hands. For instance, evangelizing really helps me remember that God's in control of things. Go out on a limb that requires surrender. At all times, stay in the word, and he will remind you of how he wants to hold his children under his gentle wings.

Great Words, eutychus. This is an awesome way to start. It's where I started, and even though I know I'm not close to being finished, this way I at least know I playing on God's terms.

There is strength amongst brothers and sisters in Christ. I'd say try to find a church that you can identify with and attend on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, I'm the same way. When I first entered Hopkins as a high honors graduate from high school, my arrogance and pride really got in the way with God and with my peers. But I soon found a church where I can belong and God has been doing wonders in my life ever since! I no longer feel the need to compete academically, knowing that God will provide for me in that department so I don't have to control it anymore.

Sometimes we must let go in order for God to do his wonders. You can prepare yourself for this by praying and almsgiving. Go help out in your college community - i.e. - homeless shelters, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. during your free time. You never know what gifts you might receive from God during that time!

Blessings to you,

Vincent
