What do you think of Lee Strobel's Case for Christ? A friend recommended it to me. Do you think it's well researched? Do you think it presents a good case for the historical Jesus? What all does it discuss? Thanks.

A friend of mine read it years ago when we were in high school, he recommended it to me but I never followed up on it. According to my friend it was a pretty compelling book, but considering how my friend is living now I kind of wonder if that should be taken with a grain of salt...

Hey Caedmon

It's in my bookcase but I have not gotten around to reading it yet.
(along with about 20 other books)
I would also like to hear what others have to say about Strobel's book.
Careful now. Sure you want to be seen around me? I've been known to struggle. I hear it's contagious. I've been wandering around the desert for a while. Some mean people threw sand in my eyes to heal my blindness. I prefer safer climates. Oh wait, let me get this right.

Do you think Lee Strobel's incredulity as a journalist affected this research methods?

There we go. That's better.

I didn't read the book, but I saw the movie/documentary that he produced with the same name. I didn't find it very compelling. He uses evidence that is entirely scriptural, which is fine if you are a Christian and already believe, but I assumed that the "Case for Christ" would include more non-scriptural historical information to support the case. Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations going in.
