Strength To Go On

Help me, Lord, see past the end
of the tunnel of my trial.
Help me see that joy will be
restored in a little while.
Help me, Lord, when I find myself
going through dark days
to lift my hands to heaven and
still give You the praise.


Help me, Lord, keep holding on
and not lose my self-control,
but cover me with meekness
and keep my devotion whole.
For when I’m standing straight up
and things are going good,
I oft’ forget to keep You first
the way I know I should.

The world is watching what I do
and how I handle stress;
they’re waiting to see if, perhaps,
I’ll love you any less.
Through trials my faith is strengthened,
my love in You complete.
I’ll soon emerge a victor
rescued from depths of defeat.
