Reasoning On The Pathway Of Life
I suppose it is a bit like the many people who stand nearby to watch a volcano explode, or the coming of a hurricane or tsunami. Many of them don't live to tell about it, and probably thought they were ready to out-run any danger. Such thoughts shows the fallacy of over-confidence in self. In the day of God's judgment there will be absolutely no escape or second chance---no eternal hope for one who neglects the great salvation God is now offering (Heb.2:3). We surely should not place more confidence in self than in our Creator; and we need to recognize that the Creator-God has in truth given us His immutable Word.
It appears also quite true to the Word Of God that a searching saint of God will surely find God's pathway to walk, so if true why are so many professing believers in Jesus Christ complacent and not following the way shown in God's Word ---especially in view of the desires of God and the clear path He shows? Do they suppose they have more knowledge and wisdom than their Creator? Is it that they believe they will live many years, and also think the Lord won't come again for a long time, and that they have plenty of time to read God's Word and get right with Him? Do they not care about honoring God in their life now? This is most amazing, for these professing Christians of all people, should know the need of obedience and faithfulness more than the unsaved souls do.
Here is what I see happening: Man in general seems to prefer his own way at any cost, and is even willing to risk his soul in hell; and many true saints of God care more for their pleasures and religious ideas than for pleasing and honoring God and obeying ---forgetting eternal rewards and commendations for conformity to the way of God. Strange behavior indeed!
Well, "the time is short", as God says, and this world seems now to be spiraling downward at a rapid pace, yet there is much indifference. Truly, "...the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..." (2 Cor.4:4); and that because he knows his end is near, and he desires to claim many foolish souls who are yet standing on the edge, as it were. Believers in Christ are truly without excuse, for they have the Word of life, if they will esteem it. Will it be after-all that as the angels look on this scene in the day of judgment they will conclude: "Men loved darkness rather than light" (John 3:19)?
SEEKING SINNERS AND SEARCHING SAINTS
SOME STRANGE REASONING
Thoughts By R. DeWitt, 2007
Many years ago one was heard to say: "A seeking sinner and a seeking Savior will always meet". If so, why do many people not see the urgency to be saved (John 3:16)? It is surely because they are not really "seeking", and because saints of God are not fully preaching the Gospel. Many souls do not appreciate God's love for their soul, and just wander along toward a lost eternity (John 3:36)? Do they not know that it is a time-limited offer, considering that one might die today or the Lord may call His church home today? Do they not know that they have an eternal soul and they will dwell forever in condemnation if without the Savior? Such questions are raised with a sense of urgency in view of the brevity of life. Could any thoughtful and wise person not give priority to this? Are we speaking to thoughtful and wise people here?SOME STRANGE REASONING
