  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey, praise report! The weather forecast called for it to get down to 7 degrees F tonight. I decided to go check out a new apartment complex I was going to move into at about 5pm. I made a wrong turn and I ended up going down a dirt road, suddenly I was on a sheet of ice and was just spinning my wheels and couldn't get free. Thankfully there was a farm house down the street and I was able to go for help, there were some very nice people there who helped me out! We tried everything to get the car free and couldn't do it, finally I was able to back up and get a running start and make it over the ice, I got free after about 2 hours! The man at the farmhouse had an idea and we tried it and it worked, I think this was God! I also got a heated winter vest for Christmas (it is battery powered and produces heat) and I am very glad I had that, it may have saved my neck! I also got a survival kit for Christmas and it was in the trunk of the car, thankfully I didn't need it but I am very glad I had that on-hand!

Looking back I think I have some ideas to help people in this situation. You may want to keep all of these in your car- a survival kit, snow shovel (metal), some emergency food and water, and a solar-powered battery that can charge a cell-phone

This is inspiring and comforting to hear. Indeed, God must have put kind souls in the way to help you out of a bad (and would have been rather scary for me personally) situation.

Praise God all turned out well. A box of cat litter is useful in the car as well - it adds weight, and when spread on ice and under your wheels, can help you gain some traction.
