We had a plan to get out. I've got no problem with that either. At some point these people have to stand on their own two feet with out us. It's patiently obvious their culture doesn't allow for that.

So getting out was the necessity. Leaving people and equipment behind was not. This is Bidens failure. Plain and simple. There should have been no Americans left and no allies left.

How would you evacuate 250k+ afghans without triggering an even faster collapse of the Afghan government/military?

Who would fill the security gap? 50-60 thousand US troops?

Are yours saying the Americans in Afghanistan want to stay there? Cause it seems like that's what you are saying. I don't have a lot of trust in the mainstream media, but I am shocked to think they are trying to push that narrative.

Yeah I don't think it's easy. And I believe they are trying. But why now? Why are they trying now? I find it hard to believe that they couldn't have been working on this long ago to determine who is there.

Could no one in this administration see this chaos? I mean, I'm no genius, but my first question would have been, how do we get our people out? Who are they and how do we get them out. This would have included any natives who worked with us.

Stuff the Taliban. They can't beat us. We'll stay as long as it takes to get our people out.

"Who is there" can change on a daily basis. The state department has been trying since March to proactively notify Americans to leave Afghanistan. There have been repeated warnings through multiple channels. But of course if the state department has no direct contact information, what can they practically do?

Don't let him con you that the Americans left behind don't want to come home. Hmmm, terrorists have taken over the country, terrorists who wish to kill those in the west and impose Sharia law throughout the world. How many of the Americans, what was it, ten to fifteen thousand at first, subtract how many got out, how many of those thousands of Americans left really wish to stay? This is more fake news.

People are screaming for help, they hung on to planes, every American has a God given right to life and liberty, if you have ANY evidence of Americans who "made no effort to identify themselves" then present it. I would like to think that not every American is as callous as Joe, checking his watch time and time again after each dead serviceman.

...not worth their effort to fix old versions of American equipment. Far easier just to give the Taliban their Russian / Chinese equipment in exchange for something of real value: Afghanistan's minerals.

You are correct that China would very much like the minerals in Afghanistan. China may be making the decisions as to what the Taliban do with American hostages. They will get what they can, likely recognition of a Taliban government, the U.S. keeping quiet about the abuses of women and the murder of Afghani allies, and lots of aid, cash or equipment. However, they don't want to get Joe thrown out of office.
