  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Gina, I am so sorry to hear about Jeremy!!!
I've missed you girl!

Paul and I have a funny story. My mom loves Paul. My stepdad was sleeping, my mom was not home yet, and we were watching hockey on the couch. My mom honked to say she was home so we kissed because we didn't know when we'd be able to after. So our front door is broken and my mom rang the doorbell and everything because the door has to be opened from the inside. So I opened and the door and my mom yelled "Paramedics! Paramedics! Does the gentleman on the couch need assistance breathing?"

hehe...stories!! :D

I have this super cute little video (only about 40 seconds) of Lauren singing the alphabet in a funny high pitch voice. She got to about T before she worked out I was filming her with my digital camera, and the results were quite funny to see! :D

Plus I've tried at times to humour her by speaking in a very weird Spanish sort of accent...sort of like if Antonio Banderas in a monotone. Whenever I can make her laugh, it's very much worth it because the laugh is nothing short of spectacular! ;)

Hediru- I'm still waiting to get flowers, LOL. I love flowers, too! I don't need them to know I'm loved, but it'd be a nice gesture, eh?

Aww! Well you never know. Men can be surprising at times!

Aww! That is so cool! I love hearing stories like that. It's like God was playing matchmaker even when you were little.

Awww!!!! These are all so sweet!

Jeremy was in a work-related accident which tore his neck up badly a couple days ago. This morning, he was fired from work because of the accident (it was his fault and it's the third one he's been in a year, so they had to let him go). Please keep him in your prayers. :sigh:

:cry:Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I know it can be really rough in that situation. Steve was out of work for 2 months over Christmas this past year due to similar circumstances. I hope Jeremy doesn't have to wait as long. I will definitely pray for you both. If you ever need anything, PM me. :)

Now's a perfect time to share the hysterical story about what Steven did this past fall. He'd been having a down week, and I wanted to cheer him up. I went out and got him a pretty wild flowers arrangement and put it in a vase in his apartment while I was at work. I made sure that I put them in a spot that was very obvious. I even left the apartment and came back in to make sure that they were the first thing you saw when you entered. Well, I picked him up from work that day, drove him home so he could get changed, and lingered a little in front after he got inside, so I could see his reaction. Nothing. So I drove the block back to my apartment, waiting for my cell to ring. It didn't. So when I pulled into my driveway, I called him. "Notice anything?" He hadn't! So I told him where to look, and for some reason he was noticing the cracks in the wall, but never saw the flowers! I had to spell it out for him! When he did finally see them, he was very pleased and surprised, and as an added bonus, I get something to tease him about for the rest of his life!!!!^_^

More chances to gush? Woo hoo!

We started dating a few weeks before New Years, so on New Years eve, he asked me to wear my best dress on our date. I cooked dinner, and he had set up his basement with strobe lights and everything, and we danced the night away! Valentine's Day, he asked me to dress up again, and he took me to a fancy resturant. But really the best things that he does are the spontanious things... like giving me his PS2 over the summer so I can play Dance Dance Revolution (I'm on a diet, and he says it'll help me. :D), or just showing up at my house without calling, with his hands full of chocolates.

But more than anything, he has such a heart for people, and such a great, God-given ability to really listen to people when they just need someone to talk to or come to for help.

Hmm... the flowers thing! I mean I had to point out to him that a bike light wasn't what was overly romantic for the 1 yaar anniversary... but he tried... and when i heard his ideas, they were the thigns i wanted so theres hope yet! he's lovely :) And i had to point out that you can buy flowers at the service station...

It's really interesting how differnent familys show what will be romantic or not... i knew where flowers were from since forever, cos dad always gets them for mum, he has never got them for anyone! EXCEPTION: growing plants covered in flowers... and the flowers die, then you have to keep then plant growing... MY to be mother in law is now keeping them alive as i killed 1 of the 3.

But ok, I must say he's got an adventurous side too... One morning when I was staying at his place he was txting someone at 8am and blatently not letting me see the txts. He told me something 'might' be happening that afternoon. We were going up, and had to check the weather, and had to meet someone. Well all the way after church -with me very curious by this time - we went to the shopping centre and waited for my best friend and her boyfriend. What had happened was I'd been over seas for a few months, and those three had been up to the top of a mountian - and she had the key. So all piled into the 4wd and drove up the mountian (I mean mountian not small hill) and it was incrediable.

Oh and by the way, I did work it out just before we started going up the mountain.

I have two stories about my girlfriend. I met her through a Christian site and we had been talking about 6 months before we finally met. I'll never forget that day. I was in her house talking with her mom and she walked in. She literally took my breath away. I could find absolutly no words to say. I'm surprised my jaw didn't drop. She walked back out of the room and her mom actually asked me if I was ok. I was completely speechless. I had seen pictures of her, but they didn't come close to showing her true beauty.

Later that night, we were in a store and out of nowhere she reached up to kiss me. That caught me completely off guard. She knew she had to make that first move because I had told her I wouldn't unless I knew for sure that she wanted me to. That whole night, I was beside myself. It seemed like a dream. We've been dating for a while now, and I have no doubt that this is the girl I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. I love her and thank God every day that He brought us together.
