I will say that the first time I heard this story I was completely cynical about it. Then I thought, how could so many people believe it if it were false?

A huge number of people believe that we only use 10% of our brain. This is utterly and completely false. This is clearly an urban legend.

How many people in this world follow heretical religious systems that will only lead them to destruction? And how many follow Biblical Christianity? How do those numbers line up with the logic you're using?

Well a few years ago on VH1 they interviewed Phil who said the story was absolutely NOT true. I'm going with Phil. Its his song so I figure he knows best

I always thought the line about drowning was a metaphore-type of thing. He has so much dislike/disdain for someone that he 'wouldn't help them if they were drowning.' Y'know...like REALLY BITTER after a breakup or something.
